You can see it from "Africa and Central Asia. It will be visible rising over South America, Western Africa and Europe, and seen setting over Eastern Asia, and Australia"

yup It has already happened, but thanks for the effort tommo. I wouldn't have been able to see it anyway living in the U.S.

It hasn't happened yet. Not here anyway. We are going to have it even more awesome because of the volcano ash. It's going to be blood red.
And I'm delirious. Not sure whether that's sleep deprivation or not lol Didn't wanna go to sleep and wake up late.

double thread, double post - so:

I'm in SEAsia (Cambodia). When do I go look?

Sorry, I just came home from a party and am incapable of figuring this one out for myself.

Oh yea, my bad you're right. It's actually occurring now. I've read that the beginning of the partial eclipse starts at (18:23 UTC) and ends at (22:02 UTC). If I'm calculating it right that would mean at the time of this post my time 16:11 EST The total eclipse will end in about 6 hours from now. I believe the partial eclipse has passed but the total eclipse is underway as we speak.

      Partial eclipse begins: 18:23 UT

      Total eclipse begins: 19:23 UT

      Greatest eclipse: 20:13 UT

      Total eclipse ends: 21:03 UT

      Partial eclipse ends: 22:02 UT

To translate UTC into your local time, use the following table:

      Europe/Middle East
      |Greenwich Mean Time|>. same as UTC|
      |British Summer Time|>. add 1 hour to UTC|
      |Central European Time|>. add 1 hour to UTC|
      |Central European Summer Time|>. add 2 hours to UTC|
      |Eastern European Time|>. add 2 hour to UTC|
      |Eastern European Summer Time|>. add 3 hours to UTC|
      |Charlie Time (Mid East)|>. add 3 hour to UTC|
      |Delta Time (Mid East)|>. add 4 hour to UTC|

      Australia
      |Western Standard Time|>. add 8 hours to UTC|
      |Western Summer Time|>. add 9 hours to UTC|
      |Central Standard Time|>. add 9:30 hours to UTC|
      |Central Summer Time|>. add 10:30 hours to UTC|
      |Eastern Time|>. add 10 hours to UTC|
      |Eastern Summer Time|>. add 11 hours to UTC|

I didn't include the U.S. on the table because it doesn't matter :p

We didn't get a chance to see it this time around. Moon is already up on the other-side of the planet. But we will have a great full moon tonight

      Damn.... that was awe....some.

Me and my sister watched the whole thing. We got cold (it was FREEZING lol) and got in the spa.
It really didn't go completely black. I thought it would be pitch black. You could still slightly see the moon even at the greatest coverage.
      Now it's covered by fog
Dunno if we'll be able to see the huge looking red moon on the horizon unless the fog fades.

Yeah it was crazy bright last night too. Before it got covered of course lol

I have some pictures of it at it's brightest, the actual eclipse ones are on a different camera (better) which I'll get soon.

This one shows the purple colour you could see around it.
You can usually see this colour at least most of the time (I think it's the same effect as Aurora) but because it was so bright, it was very close to
how it looks in this picture, except all around the moon, not just one side.

This one just looks cool lol

This is probably closer to how it actually looked (but bigger) plus the purple/violet glow.

      Cool glow.

Corry for the bad quality pics. Hope there's some better ones on the other camera.
