      Smile What is your Utopia?

      Hi everyone!

Ok so basically, how would you describe your Utopia, your perfect world? How would it be different from the world we live in now? How would people be different?

My utopia is a world based on renewable technologies where everybody is comfortable and labour is not necessary. Government is simply a small body of voluntary workers who manage things and react appropriately to any events; politics does not exist as there is no need for it. The inhabitants of this utopia can involve themselves in developing and then pursuing their passions, in the creation of art, or work at some academic discipline.

I need limitations or I'll just mess around, so I guess this world is alright as it is.

      world peace. simply
      From my rotting body,
      flowers shall grow
      and I am in them
      and that is eternity.

It would be like this world, except Tom Cruise would be a janitor, and would not have ruined any films.

A world in which everyone has psychic abilities. Teleportation, levitation, advanced levitation (flying), healing, clairvoyance, clairaudience, astral projection, super speed, super intelligence, super strength. People would be born with the inherent potential for these gifts but must go to school to learn how to use them to better their lives as well as their fellow mans.

There'd be no such thing as aging past 25 because our people discovered the gene that's responsible for aging and have effectively "turned it off".

Overpopulation? No. People have the option to leave our earth and migrate to other planets to inhabite those if they so choose (superspeed + flight + teleportation )

Our people have a deep understanding of reincarnation how everything is connected. That we are all little breaths of the infinite one. Therefore noone is afraid of death.

"Government is simply a small body of voluntary workers who manage things and react appropriately to any events; politics does not exist as there is no need for it." - Taken from Xei

We are peaceful to those who are peaceful with us. We are do-gooders up until the extent that we are not being harmed, otherwise take cover.

Our houses are solar fueled, our cars are electric (not that we need them, they're just toys), and our food is entirely organic.

We do not worship a god but if there was something close to it, it'd be our mother earth. We cater to her and honor her like a queen in how we treat her.

Though some people, based on their geographic location, are a few shades darker than others, and lighter than others.. there are no distinct difference in features or hair types.

The men grow to be around 7 ft. tall and are able to keep their muscles toned by mental exercises, not physical ones anymore.

Women are completely hairless on their bodies, save for their eyebrows and head. They have bigger eyes, perkier breasts, long flowing hair and glossy skin. These are the women that the gods would leave olympus for.

Homosexuality is foreign to us, but we are impartial to how we feel about other planetary civilizations engaging in it.

Inherently, we despise war and seek out almost any alternatives before coming to that decision. We view it as barbaric and useless. We'd rather settle our problems by playing chess-like games or reaching compromises.

There are no diseases on our planet. Our scientists have weened them out of our Earth.

Drugs are not necessary. We meditate to reach the highs that humans here reach.

Except for the hairless women part, I like your utopia, Jeff.

I like my women EXACTLY the way they are.

My utopia... Hmmm... I got nothing. I often think of dystopias(opposite of Utopia) rather than utopias. You know, war-filled land

Seriously though, the fantasy that men are more muscular and women are these plastic shiny perfections (dwarfed by the 7 foot men, which seems weird) is childishly sexist.

You're okay with homosexuals. If they live on another planet.

      I mean.

In my utopia, technology has advanced far enough to grant us a life free of labour. People are free to choose what they do, regarldess of where they were born. Medical science has advanced enough to grant us 1000 years of life on average. The system of money would be eradicated. There would be no poor, no rich. The goverment would be composed of a group of people who work as volunteers there, and make sure everyone has enough food, stays healthy, has an education, and no major conflicts arise. In my utopia, the lack of the system of money has simplified the system of law. It is clear what is right and what is wrong. Here, people would have endured hundreds of years of genetic engineering to make them more free thinking, less prejudiced, less discriminating, having less chance of committing crimes, having increased tolerance for others, etc. Major diseases would be eradicated. Every person would be bisexual. Generations of cultural change and genetic manipulation have increased the average intelligence drastically. There would be no multiple nations, however, cultural differences would still exist. Not in case of tabus, but in case of culinary preferences and art and music. Nobody would be limited enough in their thinking to be a theist without any proof. Most people on earth would be atheist, and any theist would have extremely good reasons for being one. The largest achievements a person could achieve would be related to culture. People would not do things for money or fame, the things you would do would come from art. We would not be semigods such as jeff777 wanted to have. That bit would remove a lot of the human inside of us. People would be conditioned to have vivid LDs every single night, every single REM period, and remember them in full clarity. The mainstream would not exist. Individual preferences would not be hated, and thus everyone would express themselves the way they want, instead of following he mass. Industralization would take a step back. We wouldn't have major cities like NY anymore. Most of the world would be rural, scarcely populated land, and the more populated areas would be something similar to my home town, or even less densely populated. This creates small communities with strong ties to other people in the same community. The population of the earth would be roughly 2 billion, no more, no less. Most sence of masculinity and feminity would disappear. The need to be macho or a super hot model girl would not be there. I do not want men to be macho idiots nor women to be superficial artificial looking things that use 2cm of makeup and have absolutely no personality whatsoever.

I think I've said everything I realistically think I want from an utopia.

My utopia is spending time with the person I love. Funny how simple that can be, yet impossible for me to achieve.

things like this are so odd to me. is it really so personal a utopia that we throw personal distastes completely out the window? variety is suddenly non-existent as far as sexuality goes. and that's a shame. wouldn't a better utopia be universal understanding?

The thread asks about MY utopia, not the world I would imagine to be the best utopia for everyone. I'm quite sure most of earths population do not agree with even 50% of my utopia.

It's good to know that your happiness doesn't rely on anyone else's happiness.

      It's good.

Actually, my happiness somewhat relies on other peoples happiness. Just that in my utopia, everyone would be happy to be in my utopia, lol.

If I had to design a utopia that'd best fit for all modern people currently alive, it'd be somewhat similar to my post, but somewhat different as well. Much more like xeis post.

but there would be no such thing, as you could not please the cannibals and the people that don't want cannibals to eat people at the same time. you would have to change people in some fundamental way. anything else is paradoxical, or hardly a utopia at all.

e; or I'm just being objective.

a good utopia would include universal understanding, where everyone can always see why other people do the things they do. it'd make it pretty hard for people to do wrongs.

      Don't mention it.

My utopia is any one where everyone has free agency to do anything but negatively impact on any other's free agency.

So a world with just one free agent, I suppose.

Jeff: I consider my utopia to be something positive that I'd actively try to bring about. Would you actively try to bring about yours?
