I figured out the grease gun situation. After cleaning up the mess I found somehow the seal went backwards so I (greasily) turned it back correctly. Too bad it seems to have gone backwards again because of a dent in the second grease tube. I didn't pull the rod backwards to squirt grease out the back end, I need a clean container to put this grease in because I'm not going to waste it again. After that I need to buy another tube of grease, not bad though!

My grease gun at work it empty. And the pump we use to refill them is broken. So no preventative maintenance for me... until they tell me to fix the the pump.

As for 'figuring out what you want to do in life,' I think you have to break it into two parts. First, you need to figure out what you want to do in in life that brings you happiness. Then you need to figure out what you want to do that brings you safety (to be blunt: money). If you're lucky, they'll be one and the same. But if not, you'll just need to compromise and find something that sustains a healthy lifestyle without leaving you miserable, and balance that out with something you truly enjoy doing.


Anyway, I'm happy for the most part. I'm back to drumming and joined a band. I feel like a bit of an asshole because I inadvertently kicked out another member just by joining the band, but I'm happy to be playing music again. My only real complaint is working 1st shift. Waking up at 2am to go to the gym is really hard for me, and I end up just not going. I hate that. I'm no ready to be along on 2nd shift just yet, but once I am I'll be happy to be on that shift. Screw "normal" schedules; I like working 1-10pm.

Rave: Managed to do weighted chin-ups with 100% of the weight I was at last year, which was around 247 lbs. So I bulked to 26 lbs from the 177 I was at a few months ago, and I was at 203 lbs this morning. Managed to add 40 lbs, and did 4 reps on chin-ups. Granted, I had to use the assist so I can stand up without hurting my back, but that's just to avoid jumping up to the bars. Managed to do 98%, which is close enough for me since they don't have enough plates to do odd numbers anyway.

Now, it's time to cut down back to the original lowest weight I was at, and hopefully sustain that ability to lift 40 lbs, and maybe even more in the following weeks. I can't believe 2 months ago, I couldn't even do a single chin-up, and now, I'm shooting for 50 lbs in the next 2-3 weeks before I go into the next phase in specializing my shoulders.

Rave #2: I decided to get back into image streaming, and before, I would usually type out what was going on in my head for visualization practice, and overall progressive improvement with dream recall. I bought the Nuance Dragon program for dictations, and did about 26 minutes or so of image streaming speaking aloud, and managed to do about 2,800+ words, and it was difficult compared to just using my mental voice, and translating it through typing. If I can get 5,000 words per hour, and work my way up to 10 hours like I did with just typing + mental voice, I can probably improve by 10,000 words since I would average 40,000 hours in 8 hours + 10k for 10 hours overall.

But, I think I have a ways to go as 10 hours with just my mind's voice is different from speaking 10 hours straight with my actual voice, but, I'll get there somehow. But I know during the journey, there will be more improvements than before.

Rant: I needed to be hospitalized at one point earlier this month. Days before my birthday. I was sick with a high fever and shit. I think I did all the tasks of the month that I have time for, for this month?

If you go back to the last page you'll see a post where I mentioned a dream about killing Gomer Pyle. I started spraying Fluid Film (it's sheep oil) on the Suburban today without a ventilation mask because my battery was low and I didn't charge it prior to spraying and because I wanted to get started. It was a bit cold out and in the afternoon when I started so I was going in now and then to get warm and drink something at about 130° for warmth before going back out. I got taken for a ride to some degree on this vehicle already when purchasing it, OK? (I mentioned that in earlier pages here as well, I paid over $4,000 in repairs/replacements in it including a thousand dollar transmission repair.) I'd like to get some use out of it at a reasonable degree... So why was I feeling so guilty and sick over it? I felt as if maybe I was interpreting my dream from weeks ago wrong. Gomer's a fictional character, sure. My taking care of my own equipment isn't sinful, is it? So what the hell happened? Is it just because I wasn't wearing my ventilation filtration mask and it was cold? I was feeling the little voice say "Get in, your health's on the line". GRARGH HALp. I feel like vomiting out of feeling like I'm depressed for what I've done.

Oh wait... Maybe I was just going too far in one day? ALALALALLA NEED REST LALALA

OK, last day's post was one helluva post. I'm feeling MUCH better today. Got up late, ate and started using the clay disc on a car. Broke it on the first day, a $50 mistake. Continued claying the rest of the car then started waxing it, three weeks after I started cleaning the car. (It's been sitting in the garage he whole time.)

Building another float tank. I had a brief moment in my old one where I remembered exactly how it was supposed to feel, but my tank just wasn't up to scratch to deliver that experience consistently. Doesn't hold temperature well enough and has light leaks. I just want it to be finished, but it's gonna take a while, especially with getting stuff shipped. Once again proving that cheaping out is a bad choice! And I'm still trying to do it for this build too, I need to stop being an idiot!

I narrate the whole Bee Movie script in one take a few days ago, and tonight after leaving work, there's 5 bees hanging around the door to get into the house. I don't beelieve this, man.

Caught someone trying to steal $100 in items that was mostly alcohol, and I took a photo, authorities came later, and those parents are going to be PISSED that their underage kid tried to play the rebel. I bloody charged that door, and hauled all that beer, and that guy was running like a headless chicken.

Two days off starting tomorrow, and slowly counting the days until Nintendo's event to give more information about the Switch January 12th. I think it's close to the hype I had for Twilight Princess, except I drew concept art, and game screenshots like crazy from the demos and trailers for Twilight Princess. But it might just be a different hype together where the novelty of gaming for me is coming back.

Not going to get into detail, because I don't like to complain, especially not about first world problems. But in short: Lack of thrust between my sister and my father, that leads to me having to settle the problem by speaking to both of them separately multiple times, because they don't want to talk to each other. Oh my god hahaha...

Several days ago, there was a bad car crash where we live in the middle of the night. I remember hearing a loud noise like glass and metal. I went outside and walked down the driveway and saw a dark car that looked like it hit one of the trees that lined the rock wall of our property. It was foggy and rainy. I remember that the first thing I did was to alert my family to call 911 with the cell phone and then with my brother went out to help. My brother put the flares out. Good thing the car didn't hit the power lines because we wouldn't even bother going there.
Apparently, the driver crashed because of a deer. Deer especially, the young, yearling or the sick are more likely to run out on the road. The person was trying to avoid the deer when they crash into the tree. I remember the person was alert upon our arrival but, their head was bleeding and they complained that their vision was very blurry. I remember one point, I was giving aid to the person in the car in the pouring rain before the rescue crew got there.
So, yeah, that is why I didn't sleep that night. Thought I'd share. And Now I have a cold because of it..

Wear the cold gladly, you helped someone in need. Might sound weird but yeah.

My little brother hid my damn cigarettes when I was driving him home from school, the chain of events almost got me in an accident as I was fishing around for them. My stupidity for taking my eyes of the road... But still.. Lil shits lucky I love him and that he's only 10... I have to say becoming a successful adult is overrated, sleep deprivation go! Up at 7 am better go try and get a few hours in with the sandman.

Yeah, thanks! I think anyone here would do the same if they were in a situation like that.

Since my 10th month of participating in this thread successfully (http://www.dreamviews.com/lounge/126...challenge.html) which may or may not be related I've decided to change my diet and sleep habits. For 10+ years now I've had a skin issue that reacts to sugar; I think I got it off my dog and it may be a more mild form of Cellulitis or related. I say "more mild" because when I looked that condition up a lot of cases I read were much more severe than what I've seen but the symptoms look the same, particularly the dry scaly skin photos. If I've eaten too much sugar the skin on the backs of my hands (it was only on a wrist at first) and sometimes feet (that came later) will start getting itchy and red and if there's enough, scaly and dry and hot and even itchier and redder with what looks like a massive amount of white blood cells moving about under my skin. If I scratch it gets worse and I suppose the part where it gets hot is my body fighting off the higher concentration of whatever in my body, when I was 15 I figured out it only got worse after I drank sodas so I stopped getting them then and I stopped scratching too. Now however I've decided to take control of sleeping earlier and changing my diet because I've been getting heartburn for a while and didn't do anything about it. For the time being, no bread (most of it has too much white flour in it) or refined sugary substances (cookies, pies, whatever Walmart carries) and higher concentration of vegetables and also no white flour pasta. I noticed I had more energy when eating a higher amount of vegetables and sleeping earlier helps too, I actually woke up feeling refreshed this morning since I went to bed before 11 PM. Most nights in the last 10 years have not been that early so I expect differences, this is the second night in a row where I went to bed before 11 and the first night I didn't feel much different.

I finally removed a stuck oil filter from the Suburban with help from my next door neighbor who's a mechanic. Ultimately after trying a few things and thinking I'd take the horizontal adapter off to get at the filter he told me I should use a strap oil filter wrench at the base of the filter and that did get hold of it but I didn't get enough leverage; he then gave me a pipe to put on the handle of the wrench which worked! Oh boy. I put the new filter on only hand-tight plus tightening by hand with 80 grit sandpaper after that. No leakage.

The last time I had the vehicle in there they said the drain bolt was, um, welded to the pan and they wouldn't do anything so that's out. It's not welded. I think one of the employees was relieved at the time I told him I got the oil changed and then I said "No worries" meaning I wasn't raging angry at him over it.

Lol, I see people stealing shit all the time from my work and I couldn't give less of a fuck. Guess that's the attitude you get when you treat workers like crap.
Although I just hate consumerism in general, any loss of profits for the company is a good thing in my opinion.

Maybe you're going through a similar stage to me. I thought I just didn't enjoy gaming anymore, but majority of games are really just average or complete crap.
If I find a game I do like (Wolfenstein, GTA), I'll play the hell out of them. Otherwise I pay barely pay attention to games anymore.

I get it. The whole cis concept altogether is ridiculous in my mind, as well as the dozens of genders thing. There's two genders, full stop.
You can definitely fall somewhere between the two and change frequently which I believe they call gender fluid.
Everything else is bullshit. But for the actual real stuff, just remember you probably didn't grow up with it.
This is why people think you get more conservative as you get older. That itself is total bullshit (scientifically proven) but the youth do become less conservative with every generation.
So you seem conservative as a result.

I think SJW is probably a good thing in the long run, since it will simmer down over time, but I just wish they'd apply it to everything.
All they seem to care about is persecution of gays/trans/whatever letters they've added to that increasingly long LGBT acronym.
They don't care if someone's harassing people in general, or systemic discrimination, or entire countries of people being persecuted. They only care if the people fall within their "group".

Maybe that'll change as they get older, who knows.... I think the youth just have a way to voice their opinions to the whole world now. Only it's a naturally narrow opinion with little deep thought, because they're young.

can people on the internet PLEASE stop drawing random characters as MLP FIM ponies? I guess not.

Now I don't want to sound like I'm hating on something they like, (If you like these drawings, more power to you; I'm happy you can enjoy something that I don't see value in.) but from a purely artistic and aesthetic standpoint a lot of these just wind up looking really weird and poorly done from an artistic standpoint. I'm not sure if it's just people on deviantart using bases or what. But whenever I'm looking up fanart or references, I always see a ton of these pictures. (By the way I did a check. There's a slenderman pony, FNAF ponies, Undertale Ponies, Steven Universe Ponies, Minecraft Creeper Ponies, Soul Eater Ponies, the list goes on. I even saw ones for that weird youtube series, RWBY...???) I mean, I guess I can almost understand where these people are coming from, since I like taking characters that other people have created and making my own interpretation of them. Maybe it's something that really only has value if you're into the show, I'm not sure. But maybe it's just that the drawings always seem to have a set of tropes that really bother me, and from an outsider's perspective I see more of the negative than the positive.

1. The design/stamp/tattoo/cutie mark/whatever it's called is usually a symbol or object from the show photoshopped onto the pony's rear leg. I don't know THAT much about MLP, but I always thought that the mark was supposed to be simple, and not detailed. (A few times I've had it be the face of the HUMAN version of that character)

2. Whenever a character is tall/thin/muscular/fat people can never seem to translate that to the pony body in a way that looks believable. Some of them representing taller characters look stretched out and like they would fall over or something. I've seen some really weird face shapes too.

3. If the character has a signature weapon or handheld item the pony either has to be standing upright and somehow holding said item despite the fact that they have hooves rather than hands. That or they use the unicorn horn telekinesis or (I don't watch the show) to hold it.

By far the weirdest/worst looking ones I've seen have been the Darth Vader and Boba Fett ponies (Or maybe the Blair from soul eater pony that had pony boobies?- ) and the best looking one was Pearl from Steven Universe. Purely from a character design standpoint the pearl pony looked better than some of the characters that are actually on the show.

I just had a laugh reading this. Not mocking but I am part of the MLP: FIM community and it does help me to read a perspective from someone who's not into the show since I do draw them occasionally but I feel extra amateur. For me anyway the idea in drawing's probably like when anyone who ever writes music, as fans they may just mix things up they like together and there it is. I'm even in the stream of someone who was drawing Antelopes in the MLP: FIM style as I type this.

With all that said;

1: The mark is a "Cutie Mark" (yes, regardless of gender) and it's a summary of the character's talent. Applejack harvests apples so she has apples, Daisy's a florist I think (it's never explicitly said as she's a background character,) Lyra's probably a musician and etc. For OCs and other characters it depends according to what the artist deems appropriate.

2: At least in the show there are a few fat and thin characters but the majority in the first two seasons were just using the same basic female base. Later on the show got a bit more varied with Bulk Biceps, Cherries Jubilee and there are even The Dude, Walter and Donny from The Big Lebowski that actually showed up in cameos (The Dude even got voiced for Ep. 100) who all have differing body shapes.

3: Hooves/Hands? "Who cares, it's a cartoon" may be it. This is an occasional joke in the fandom.

Not sure what else to say as I haven't looked up Darth Vader, Boba Fett or many else.

Oh and to say something else I got the van in the garage to part out. It's turning out well.
