WHY PEOPLE!?
It's so pointless and a massive waste of money and time.
I really don't understand it, but it may have something to do with this society's focus on going to "college" ( that's what you call it there, right?) to prove to people that you're smart or something.... doesn't really help if you fail though....
And it's not that people don't want to learn, it's just certain parts that will not RELATE to them applying it to real life (because honestly, who really needs to know about monocots and eudicots when they're going to type a quote in the office in the future?) And people will be smart because money is on the line, it's just that when you're in a class that gets curved a lot anyway, there's no point in over-exerting yourself, especially when dealing with other classes, and still trying to be sane.
This is just one class, but I hope I didn't imply that it covers the overall mentality of the University lol, because people really do work hard here, it's just that some courses, you think (why the hell do I need to take this? I guess it's just standard courses everyone needs to take).
It's a tradition that needs to die, but it will be a necessary evil until people can become Steve Jobs in a matter of minutes
There's going to be a curve, and people call it college or university here. The weird thing about college/universities, exams or quizzes might not be based on 100%. Sometimes the exams/quizzes are intended to be hard like Organic Chemistry for instance (people can make like 40s on their exams) but the thing is, that's how some are most of the time, so they base it on a curve on the highest score and distribute the rest (sometimes the really hardcore 4.0 GPA get a lot of insurance with high grades that way).
And sometimes things are based off of 100% right off the bat. The 3/10 average may look bad, but trust me, it's because this lab is one of those experiences that people don't really care about (and you'll find that laziness in most universities/colleges anyway). It's weird, I'd like to go more into how it works, but I can't find the right words for it.
And yeah, college/universities, it's just some BS method to thinking you're sooooo smart and shit when you're better off just working a low-end job and hoping you work your way up in the corporate hierarchy.
Ehh, there's nothing I can do about it, especially with a parent who jumps on the bandwagon about college overall like most parents do, and how they panic that you need to do well to get a good job and blahbakbhjalbjdflabjklgjldagjalgjsdfgkjak.
Lol, I better study for my Political Science Exam, just have to type two more pages of terms, put them on Quizlet, and take a practice test, and hope for the best tomorrow.
And wow, I'm chewing on a bottle cap, and I think when I twisted it, it made a small cut on my tongue. Now I'm tasting saliva and blood, mmmmmm yummy! I feel tired, I feel like just sleeping and forgetting that I need to study for this exam tomorrow....but NO link...HIGHER EDUMACATION.....WOOHOO
