Okay then...
At first I thought someone had stolen my account because I couldn't sign in. Then I tried my old password I changed about a month ago and it worked. I was so confused... then the bolded message on the meta thread freaked me out. It almost felt like some Matrix thing, somebody telling you "this is not reality, you're in a dream", "this is not the real DV, get out now"... it was honestly quite creepy.

This whole situation has been rather odd. Now that it's confirmed by Alex that he's not doing this, I wonder how this is all going to play out....

I dunno but I wish all this fun drama would happen on a day that I wasn't rushing to get homework done...

It's strongly advised. That other DV is a hacker fake, if you do the IP thing it'll make sure you connect to the correct one every time.

I think most of the crazy hectic part is over by now anyway, now it's just... paranoia.

I went to my DJ and all of the entries I wrote since I started being active on DV again (13 of them) were gone. I'd spent a few hours typing them up from my paper and pencil journal, and I don't have a backup. Talk about anti-motivation for posting dj entries. Fortunately, I found a post about the hosts file thing before I started truly freaking out.

And here I was thinking DV was a good backup in case I lost my paper and pencil journals... as opposed to paper and pencil being a good backup if DV were hijacked

Well, I suppose it is a good reminder to get off my lazy bum about backing up various computer files...

I'm confused and don't know what you're saying but it did turn out that way. I didn't let myself alter the hosts thing on linux until after getting it done... and I did get it done. Almost thought I wasn't going to. FuCK.. Oh, look what thread I'm at. That's convenient....

I just programmed nonstop (making a C shell) for a total of about 30 hours, no breaks, no sleep. Except for eating breaks and things like that. I haven't slept since 2 nights ago, adn that was a 6 hour sleep while drunk and having a hangover. And I drank a huge coffee a few hours ago so I could do this and now I'm hyper. I cannot even pay attention to what I'm typing, or it's difficult. I cannot even seem to embrace the fact that I'm done and can relax now, I still feel the same stress for some reason. And I'm nothing near feeling tired, fuck what do I do. I have to wake up in about 8 hours and planned to sleep tonight a lot.

Will we get our posts back since I have lost heaps of stuff which I find important!!!

Well apparently they are there now but b4 I checked and the posts since 10th of feb didn't exist... seems ok now though

You know you need sleep when........

- you start hallucinating flashes of light and stuff
- you're too exhausted to get ready to go to bed.
- You take 20 pictures of yourself to post showing how tired you look then decide not to post them
- you stop being tired even though you know you should be, but that might be the coffee
- you're me at this time this year th shour etc.
- you sto pmaking much sense
- you try to make jokes that aren't funy at all, or is it? I don't know , it's not even a joke at all
- you start rambling incoherently and I have no idea what the fuck is going on lol

so, weird question.. if this is the real DV, how is it that you guys are able to go back and forth between the two?

Removing the ip tags from the host file and putting them back in I guess.
