I actually get it a bit now as well if I lie on my back. On my stomach or sides it doesn't happen. Runs in my family....

RANT: I had a dream this morning where I was looking at a clock for friggen ages trying to figure out why the numbers were changing! Number one dream sign, right? So, obviously I became lucid? haha.... hahahaha! No.... thank you brain! You've only failed to make me lucid for a year!
My dream logic concluded that the number was changing every time I looked away and back at the clock because through my left eye it looked like a 2 (coz I got bad vision in my left eye IRL) and through my right eye it looked like a 5. So I sat there changing the number. Still didn't realise I was dreaming.

First words when I woke up were "oh. my. god...."

Nah, Doc's handwritting sucked THAT much. It was a "G", not a "C" and the med is Gabapentin. 100 mg (the lowest available for now). It's an anti-siezure med that's prescribed off-label for lots of other stuff.

I was an extreme skeptic about this restless leg stuff. "This is just a 'new' disease for Pharma to make money off of." I mean, I know people's suffering is real, but I thought it was from some "legitimate" issue.
My legs have hurt, literally, my entire life. I wrote it off as being part of Ehlers Danlos. The bouncing is newish (last several years) but the pain has gotten worse, so I wrote it off as a coping thing.
I am now a proselite (grrrr... sp!!) for RLS and this med

After a single dose, I have noticed an improvement. But can it truly work THAT quickly? I'm used to those sorts of meds having to build up in your system for some time.
But the sedative effect REALLY REALLY sucks. So, I skipped it last night. Hubby gets off work early on Friday's and he likes to grab lunch somewhere with me. I wanted to be awake. I didn't realize just how much PAIN I was actually in. "Eh, it's just a minor though constant DISCOMFORT." Discomfort my butt. I was in agony this morning, so I took it. I fell right to sleep, my legs don't bother me. *shrugs*

Another thing I don't like about this med is it's making me nauseous. It's very tolerable, but I may ask my regular doc for some Zofran.

As for OTC, I never tried magnesium, but I took Potassium and Gingko for years for my legs. They helped, but not enough.

My rant is that I just woke up. But I slept from around 7:30AM-3:30, so I got in a straight 8 hours. Now I'll take a caffeine to counter the sedative effect and HOPEFULLY, I'll manage to stay awake until midnight. NO NAPS!!!! Yeah, let's see how that works out

My rave is that i got 8 hours of sleep And it was GOOD sleep. I don't remember my dreams though because I took the dogs out as soon as i got up and the puppy ran off so I had to herd him back home Stupid leash law and whiny neighbors. Nah, I understand the importance, but we don't live within city limits for crying out loud. And my dogs aren't aggressive or trouble makers, so it's still annoying. The neighbors dogs spend their entire lives locked in tiny kennels. To me, THAT'S complaint worthy- not letting the dogs run and play.

My rant is that I went to call hubby last night from my gmail and the plugins didn't work for computer to computer calling. I tried using gmail to call his land line... the plugin didn't work No big deal, I thought. Gmail does this from time to time. Just have to reinstall the plugins.
Nope.
Went looking for answers, tried a few things.
Nope.

Rage deleted my entire Google folder

which deleted EVERYTHING. My bookmarks, my bars

But after a few minutes, everything went back to normal
EXCEPT... the plugins still don't work.

And now Farmville is acting SUPER laggy.

I'll have to troubleshoot some more, but I don't have the patience to do so right now. I also have to find some free anti-virus software because the download I previously had was just a trial

I had restless leg really bad when I was a kid. Felt like there were ants crawling inside my legs and the only way to stop the feeling was to walk around. I only got it at night and it kept me up for hours. Eventually it went away and now I only get it very rarely. I've always assumed it was something to do with development.

I also occasionally got a weird feeling in my hands when I was a kid too; also only at night, it felt like my hands were just bone, and everything I touched felt huge but tiny at the same time. It was very confusing and it also kept me up for hours. That too faded with age but I've had a couple more 'episodes'.

My amateur theory is that both these things are to do with fluctuating dopamine levels in development. RLS is linked to dopamine levels so it's not much of a leap to guess that my crazy hand thing was too. But yeah, it could also be a load of crap like you say Zhay

heh, I got terrible pain in my legs when I was a kid. I could hear and feel the creaking. Mom called it "growing pains". What I have now is a lot like that but without the noise lol

I'm raging again over these infernal machines I bought a Steam card tonight because I've REALLY been wanting to play Fallout3. I was warned that the game isn't "optimized" for anything above Windows 7 but I figured it would still work. Wrong. I click "play" and it just disappears. No warnings, no nothing SO... I figured I'd install it onto the older computer. It has Vista. It will start to play, then crashes
I was told to go to my Control Panel "Turn Windows features on or off" to manually reconfigure Microsoft.NET Framework 3.0x64.
I went there and found nothing at all. *pulls out hair*

BUT, my computer hasn't updated in years because of some error or another. I'm thinking about wiping it... but with this, the new computer, still unable to make calls, I can't really wipe the old one. I guess I should try to figure out what's going on with my plugins on this one first and then do the wipe.
But doggonit, I really want to play that game. Seems like I wasted $20.

Thought about wiping my other machine some more... looked up info... found all my original CDs (almost said "disks" ). I decided to run my Windows disk. It's never been opened. Went through the whole process then had to verify the product key. It was invalid WHAT. THE. HECK????
I even tried typing in the "8"s as "B"s in case I was getting it wrong.
I can't wipe my machine without it can I? (Not if I want to use it any how).

My niece's friend died two year ago April 19 because some druggy drunk driver. Right before my niece's birthday! She was born on the day of the Columbine High School massacre. Anyways, I keep having dreams about my niece's friends. That could of been my niece you know?

After more researching, I found a solution to Fallout 3. It was VERY time consuming (had to change a bunch of folders to 'run compatible with Vista... Xp... service pack 1-3'. Each folder and subfolder seemed to have different compatibility lol
And THEN I had to go to a preference record and change all the numbers.
Took about an hour, all in all, but now the game is working completely fine

I have my sons counseling tomorrow night. I'll be going to the mall to buy some more coils, so it's all good.
Pumpkin, the cat, had her kittens... all 2 of them. One is very dark (brown or black) with hints of orange. The other is completely orange.
I tell everyone not to expect the orange one to make it. It's been a very long-held family curse. Orange and white cats never live long. Maybe they're more immuno-compromised or something. They're cute. Pumpkin doesn't know what the heck she's doing though. I tried moving them to my room where they'd be warmer and safer, but she insisted on keeping them out in the master bedroom under boxes and in the worlds tiniest box-home (it was for a long, standard/small space heater) :shrug:

Well, I was wrong. The black and orange one died first. Pumpkin's a terrible mom and Paula is all sorts of upset about it.
I told her 'It's sort of like a 9 year old having a baby and telling her: "Here, figure it out." That's about Pumpkins maturity level right now. I've never seen a more clueless cat.
Right now, she's treating the orange one more like prey she's toying with than a mother nursing. She's not outright hurting it, but she keeps moving, rolling and toying with it. She doesn't seem to understand it's her baby.
I tried fostering them with Squirmy again. Squirmy was okay with that idea but good golly her babies are brutal!!! I call them a pack of zombie piranha's.

Now Squirmy's an outstanding mom. When they start getting too brutal, it looks like she's about to attack and eat one of their heads... but then she turns around and just grooms it lol. If they keep it up despite her hisses, cries and aggressive grooming, she leaves for a while.

Another rant is that I'm awake. I slept from around noon until 5PM... got up (barely) for counseling and the mall. ate McD's on the way home, took my meds at 9:30 and by 10:30 I was fast asleep. i fell asleep hard and faster than I have in a very long time.... then woke up at 1 because I was extremely overheated (left the heat on high) I REALLY hope hubby's not planning on doing anything today.
I need to buy some more e-juice and a few other things before 7PM. Other than that, I hope to catch up on sleep.

A major rave is: My eldest was re-hired at the telemarketing place I need to see if hubby will prescribe me some inderal (sp) for high blood pressure so I can give it to my eldest. That job gives him severe anxiety but it's the only place that will hire him. Inderall might help (and seeing that he has higher than recommended blood pressure, it might help with that too). I now have to push him to get medical coverage and then he can see someone and get some proper treatment for both (and other) issues...
Since the government is cracking down on prescription writing, I don't know if hubby will do it though.

Time to play some Fallout and go back to sleep soon (I hope!!)

Wow... slow time at RRC&C. I guess that's a good thing, lol, but it makes me feel bad for this triple post.
I woke at 3 and promptly checked on the orange kitten. I couldn't see him, but eventually found him wedged between 2 boxes, very cold and stiff. I thought for sure he was dead. But when I picked him up, he moved. I quickly warmed him up and made his mother lay with him. He was too weak to nurse and she kept moving away from him anyhow (though she did clean him a couple times).
Then hubby called. He wanted to go out for lunch. The girls weren't home and Ray and Miley are too wimpy to care for sick or dying critters.
I put him in the box with the zombie piranhas. I figured, he'd at least die warm and with others.

When I got home though, he has a lot of his strength back. He's moving and vocal. Maybe Squirmy nursed him and the z.p's let him.
It would probably be kinder to put him out of his misery, but that little one is a fighter. I'll let what will be, be.
The girls need to hurry up and get back to work so they can spay Pumpkin though. Yeah, she's immature, but I now question her ability to care for any litter. (And we really don't need any more babies anyhow!!!!)

Other than that, it's turning out to be a good day. Hubby was uber cranky and I picked on him some because I'm actually in a fairly good mood. Then he mentioned he was stressed because of lawyer stuff and I felt a bit guilty for giving him a hard time.
He called to apologize for his crabbiness and I apologized because I had forgotten all about him having to deal with lawyers this morning.

My rant is that my stomach is rebelling over lunch. But what else is new

The fact that she almost never completes the daily tasks is irrelevant, even though you do on a DAILY basis. Because you are two minutes late and not a relative, so nothing you do is EVER fucking good enough to gain even a little bit of credit in her eyes.

Boss gives you shit schedule to accommodate her vacation, and a day off the niece needs in the same week. Niece gets same awesome schedule she always gets.

Don't know, Anju, but major grats! Is it something you painted yourself? I have the same problem with selling crocheted items. I guess, tally in the matierals- the paint used, the canvas, how many hours you put into it. That should be your base pricing. Then ask yourself how much YOU would spend on it.

Actually, the schedule doesn't bother me in the least.... but it's hard to be part of the real world with it, and hubby complains.

I guess I'll OD on caffeine throughout today in hopes of staying awake so I can sleep tonight. hubby likes to sometimes do things over the weekend. If that doesn't work, I can take a couple benadryl early-ish tonight and hope that knocks me out until Saturday morning.

A rant/rave is my kitten Simon. He is such a lovey boy. he's a lap cat and my allergies hate it If I ignore him, he'll climb my clothes (and scratch my legs in the process) just to get to my lap. if he's finally off to himself and i talk (to myself or a video game), he comes running, thinking I want him. I rEALLY have to learn how not to talk to myself But he's such a good boy, I really don't mind. I just wish I wasn't allergic. I'm thankful the allergies are mild. I'm usually okay unless I forget and touch my face or rub my eyes after petting him.
The funniest thing is, though, I think he's allergic to me too. Every time he gets on my lap, he starts sneezing

I have been contacting some docs about this semi-new treatment for my eye thing. Finally one of them replied, she was aware of it but didn't seem interested in using it. However she pointed me to a guy in another state who does use it, I contacted him and sent my med history etc. coz he needed to see if it's suitable. But now he's out of office until the end of May....

This wouldn't be so bad, I've waited basically my whole life, I can wait a while longer. But knowing my luck, he'll come back and say it's not suitable.

That would be the death of me. If that happens I'll have to wait longer and then get my eye sliced open and stitched together, and that has a very low success rate anyway.

I'm about ready to rip it out and wear a pirate patch, or get a glass eye. Can't live with this shit for much longer.

But a bit of humor (to me, the cat lady anyhow). I had the dogs outside earlier and the cats were rolling around in the sun. I went to pet BB because her belly and toward the sky when I noticed something "What is that you have, BB? Gonads? you're a boy?!" So I promptly picked up my good buddy Simon... and he's a GIRL. WHAT? I have to rethink my kitty-cat sexism. In my experience, females are always stand-offish, more independent, snobby if you will. Boys have always been the lovey ones of the sexes. Not the case with these two.

haha, I friggin love dream continuity problems. I took a nap. Michael Weston was framed with something and his team gave up on him. I was some other girl, a nobody who got caught up in the problems. I made it my mission to find him.
I was pursuing some guy on a motorcycle, so I hot him with a bug gun (stings, releases a hoard of insects to distract and scare but does no real damage). He wrecked his motorcycle and I raced over....... to his car, where he had 2 passengers hiding in the back. One asked about his mom. I went around the car and she was hanging out the door, a bloody mess with the seatbelt wrapped around her neck.
... so I carry her to a some healing waters. It's like a factory moat. I jump in with her and sit with her at the bottom. The water works only if the person drowns to death. They're then resurrected healthy and whole.
So, I'm sitting with the lady. She starts to struggle.... and then I'm holding a dog under the water. And it doesn't have to drown to the point of death- just near death.

My eyes are really fucked Zhaylin, lol. My right eye is long-sighted, my left is slightly short-sighted and has amblyopia.
Basically amblyopia means the optic nerve is under-developed, which makes the vision fairly terrible.

Long explanation and I guess my rant for the day, feel free to ignore:
It's like my vision in that eye is missing pixels or something. There's patches where vision is missing.
It's not black, there's just.... nothing.

It is getting better with this drug I've been taking though. But basically my brain learned to ignore the left eye because the vision is crap.
I grew up mostly using my right eye because my vision is better that way, rather than merging the images from both eyes and having worse vision.
Basically this caused one or two of the muscles in my left eye to get weaker since it wasn't been used, and so my eyes don't line up properly. They don't look at the same point.

It's pretty fucked, and ruins my self-esteem a lot. It's not that bad comparing to some other people who have this.
It only happens sometimes now, so mostly my eyes are sort of lined up, but still not exactly.
It's improved a lot with the drug I'm taking and some visual training I'm doing. But still not great.

The treatment I want to get will basically strengthen those muscles and hopefully I'll get at least close to normal vision for the first time in my life.

It may sound not that bad, but it honestly affects every part of my life. I've missed out on all the fun parts of growing up because of it.
It affects depth perception, because I only used one eye (depth perception requires two eyes), so sport ended up becoming more and more difficult. It affects relationships because it looks kinda spaz. Every girl who's ever shown interest has eventually noticed my eyes and lost all interest. I've got very few friends because almost everybody judges you based solely on looks. In addition it's worse if I drink or stay up late. So I just avoided going out almost always. I feel like I missed all the cool bits of adolescence. All coz of a couple of muscles in my eye.

It affects my concentration, I thought I had ADD for a while, but it's probably just my eyes (interestingly though, both conditions are related to decreased dopamine). I spend so much of my mental faculties on focusing my eyes properly that I have almost nothing left for anything else. It's so hard to accurately convey how hard this is.... 90% of all my thoughts are about my eyes. Whether it's focusing properly, wondering whether someone has noticed my eyes going spaz, or just feeling like shit about it.

In some ways it's not that bad. I mean I got in to other things because I wasn't going out, had no real friends etc.
I learned a lot about many things. But I also just spent a lot of time escaping.... gaming, drugs, movies, wasting my life away.

So yeah.... it sucks.

I hope it's not offensive, but I've always referred to that issue (as an onlooker) as "wonky eyes". It doesn't make the person any less attractive or weird or defective- it's an interesting and unique quark. There's too many friggin vain and judgemental people in the world!
And it doesn't sound like the problems are a little thing. It would bother the heck out of me too. Floaters bother the heck out of me. I can't imagine having actual voids!

My rant is blood blisters. In my mouth. From grinding.
For about a month or more I've taken to grinding the front of my mouth. So at the bottom gum line, beneath the front teeth where the gums meet the inside of the lips is where I'm causing the most damage. Gah! It's weird but I love putting salt on wounds. Especially oral wounds. Don't know why but I've always thought of it as a pleasurable pain (since I was 7 years old and used to cut the gum between my lower front teeth with my thumb nails ). After an injury, I simply put a finger on it and enjoy the salt from my skin. ANYHOW... I keep waking up with a finger in my mouth
Today, the spot felt especially sore so I took a look. Gah! 2 blood blisters and a third trying to form.

I need to just suck it up and start taking my dentures out before bed. I feel so weird without them though. I'm killing my poor mouth. Something has to give!

I also slept all day. Had weird dreams all morning. The most notable was someone peeling off their own face and then slitting their throat. What the heck is with all the gore lately.
Oh wait. Fallout3 Maybe I should stop playing so close to bedtime!

lol it is offensive, but oh well. I've heard worse. You tend to learn to move on fairly easily and ignore vain assholes. Although yeah it gets to you sometimes.
I must say though that it does make me appreciate the nice people more now. And it can even help in that it's easier to identify the judgemental people.
But because it's not like that all the time, it can take a while. Just thinking someone's alright, getting closer, then they notice it and it's like they pretend they don't even know you.

Ah well.... hopefully that will all be in the past soon.


Could you get a mouthguard for sleeping? Either over or instead of dentures? Seems like it would work.

I've been having weird dreams too. Last two morning I dreamt my brother was in prison, or going to jail or something. lol

I've briefly looked into mouthguards. They seem complicated and I don't know if they would work with dentures. Plus, I don't want to dole out $20. minimum for something that seems so trivial. I should just learn not to friggin grind

My rant/rave is that I'm about to leave for sons counseling. He'll be working on Wednesday, so he's going to one of the morning sessions. I actually slept some last night and hated waking up.... BUT, I can buy McD's breakfast while I'm out It will make my stomach severely rebel though, so I should wait until the return trip home to pick it up. I just don't know if logic will rule however.

I didn't want to mention this before, because I was afraid I'd jinx it just by telling anybody, and risk falling back on what I said... but last week I had a first date with a guy who was really cute and nice. We got along fairly well, although I can't get him to talk enough about what he's really interested in (he listens to NPR, has a day job and volunteers at a puppet show in his spare time), but he's VERY interested in me, inexplicably. I asked him out again this week, agonizing over the possibility that he'd never reply back, just like so many others have, but he actually did reply back and said yes, he'd love to.

So the second date turned out to be pretty fun. We toured around an aviary, had lunch, etc. I didn't like how he'd try to sneak in a touch against my shoulder or try to lean in, as if it wasn't painfully obvious what he was trying to do, but when he asked if we could hold hands and I did, that was fun. I was pretty happy in that moment. I told him I wanted to see where he did the puppet shows, since it was close by, so we went there.

And then we went into the puppet room...... and I was horrified. He was still nice and all, but all the puppets.... I have a serious problem with puppets, and I tried not to let it show. I only like SOME puppets SOMETIMES. Most of the time they're absolutely nightmare fuel. And again, he was trying to sneak in a touch of my arm or hand here and there, and in the puppet room, that only made it creepier. I lead the way out of there and he drove me home, since I had no car at the time.

I just wish I could stop feeling so fucking creeped out by the puppets and everything. Here is, for once, a cute guy I'm really into, who's really into me. But the FUCKING CREEPY PUPPETS. I guess I just need to be honest and admit to him that I'm creeped out by puppets, and I don't like him trying to touch or get close without verbal permission.

I'm having second thoughts about this guy, to be honest.
