People will always be that way for most of your life but believe me, in the long term it will pay off not caring about status. I just watched a very powerful documentary called "Happiness", it's all about how truly happy people care little for status or fortune. Be glad that you have the ability to see past that bullshit, developing your hobbies, worldview and relationships are much more fulfilling activities than the stuff those popular losers saturate their life with.

Just came back from jogging, I ran to the local park. I'm not sure what to call it, it's not really a park, it's more like a huge lake surrounded by lots of trees grass and one big hill. I ran to the hill and prayed towards the north, east, south and west. I'm not religious though. It's a deeper meaning for myself really. Anyhow, it felt great even though there's strong winds and it's only 8 celcius degrees outside. It was very cold, but I bursted out in laughter when I got home. So it did me good.

Ahhh, so sorry, OP. I just honed in on "I spend way too much time letting other people bring me down ... Then, when my practice has fruited, they'll see the fruit of my labor and they'll find a reason to listen.

And Athylus got me thinking about religion, lol so I just passed on nuggets I had picked up with the Witnesses.

Athylus, The older Witnesses and the over-zealous can come across way too strong. But it's not their mission in life to "convert" anyone. Their goal is to find people who have questions about the Scriptures and to share what they've learned. If you do join us, WONDERFUL lol, but if you're uninterested, we move along.
Some territories get worked too often, which is one reason they seem to pushy (even if they're not trying to be). If you feel harassed, just ask them to put you on their "Do not call" list. Someone will still stop by once a year or so in case you've changed your mind or to see if you've moved and maybe someone else is living there.

My rant is that I woke up at 5AM and left to take my daughter to work. I sat in the car for 20 minutes before going to the door to see if she was running late. She was sleeping :bang: She told her boyfriend to call me last night and let me know she took today off but he failed to do that :furious: So I wasted $5. of gas for no reason (not really THAT much, but still).

Also, I hate the meow of the cats in Minecraft. They sound distressed. I'm sleepy and caught myself- not once, mind you, but TWICE- about to say "It's okay keet-cat." Which is what I say to my cats when they sound like that :cackle: :roll:

A rave is that I'm down to smoking 4-5 cigarettes a day (from my usual 40 or so). These e-cigs are friggin amazing!

Although it's really an old, common place rant.

My bird is such a weirdo. But I'm equally as weird. He hates whenever I leave my room. he gets anxious and starts to "flock call". I had to take a shower and his cage is right against the wall to the shower. His anxiety causes me anxiety. When he carries on like that and I'm not there, I imagine the cats have gotten into my room. So I make animal sounds to try and get him to reply in his happy chirp. He especially likes me to wolf howl or meow. But as long as I'm not in the room, he's usually impossible to soothe. So I keep making these noises, hoping to calm him and it occurred to me I would seem insane if we got unexpected company :cackle:

Also, my stomach is cramping today. Ugh. Why is it always either constipation or diarrhea? Why can't my stomach find a nice medium area for a change :roll:
Another rant is that I do not understand washcloths at all. I never fell clean when I use them. I have to give myself friction rubs with my hands in order to get off dead skin. Washcloths seem incapable of doing that. Why do I even try bothering with them?

A rave is that I got 11 hours of uninterrupted sleep for a change. my dreams were pretty decent too.

Damn please kill me I've been awake since 4:00 studying for the Spain history exam I have today and my bed is calling me. I miss her so much :(.

I'm finally starting to get organised. But my rant is how disorganised I am.

I thought it was fucking thursday yesterday, but it was wednesday. So I missed work.
Someone from there called up and asked why I wasn't there and I said it wasn't on the roster.
After I hung up I realised it was wednesday, not thursday.

I'm never going to able to keep a job and go to uni at the same time the way I am now.
I've also come late a few times and gotten the day wrong once before as well.

Thing is, I can't apologise til tomorrow. So I don't know if they're majorly pissed or anything, I just want to say that it won't happen again and it's just coz I have heaps of stuff going on at the moment etc.
I mean the work sucks, but I still need a job, and it's starting to get better slowly thanks to our new manager. And now I fucked that manager over by not coming in to work.

Feel like an asshole. I know it's just coz of my disorganisation and probable ADD, but I still feel like an asshole.

I "cheated" and made a copy of my world, then reverted it to 1.7 so I could use an x-ray machine. I found a mineshaft and a mob spawner nearby. Then I went back to my main save and explored.

The mineshaft had three chests, but all junk. Well, I got some melon seeds and two diamonds, but no horse armor nor saddles. The mob spawner was even worse--not even a single chest! It wasn't even attached to a cave; it was just the mob spawning room... so it was essentially impossible to find without using an x-ray machine. I'm still disappointed that they've been "fixed," but I guess it's not too hard to make copies and revert them to 1.7 or earlier. But I'm converting that to an XP farm, so all is good.

I actually never played Minecraft online. Hell, I've never played any games online. But I'd be down to try. I just don't have a mic.

Got the estimate on my wife's car. It was totalled, and she got about 2,000 less than she paid 4 years ago, which is way more than we estimated and more than she could have sold it for. So, new car! It sucks, but it really worked out for the best.

Rofl, Tommo. not because of missing work but I did the exact friggin thing. My hubby and I use Google Voice and you can change the status to on-line, busy or customize it. If either of use is doing something (sleeping, shower, store etc) we change the status.

I thought he might be in the kitchen or something so I waited 20 minutes, tried him again. Nothing. He always calls me right back so I started to worry. I called his landline then the computer and I was finally overcome by worry. Did he fall? Have a heart attack? So I typed in the status box "I'm about to try to break into your house to make sure you're okay." Then I went to leave my house and saw that his car was gone. :bang: Then it hit me, so I typed in the status box " *sigh* Nevermind. Today's Wednesday, not Thursday."
He was at work :roll:

He has one key to his house but he always goes inside through the garage. The doorways are covered by rodadendrems (sp!! flowering trees). But he and I are going to have to work something out. I do worry about him sometimes. It's not that he doesn't trust me with entrance to his house, he doesn't trust my kids and the people they associate with (with very good reason).

Sefalik, I never played the earlier versions, so thankfully I don't have anything to compare it with. I love the blocks and everything about the game. The x-ray machine sounds like it would have been awesome though. I've only found 2 mine shafts out of, I don't know how many, worlds I've created. This one I found a few days ago is friggin awesome though. In size that is. I've found 5 chests or so, so far. One had horse armor but for the most part, it's just lots of seeds and junk. Throughout the shaft though, I've found a whole lot of ore.

It's cheating, but I don't really care, lol. Now-a-days, whenever I create a game, I get myself one set of diamond tools, armor, weapons, using creative mode and I enchant everything with the anvil. If I want to jump right into playing, I build a small house and get one stack of food one of torches and a large beacon. Then I switch to survival mode and go. I get bored very quickly if I'm not grinding for mats.
By the time my tools break, I have found more diamond and I make replacements.
I love exploring and making my own tunnels. I have bad guys set to easy, though :D

Tiresias, sorry the car is totaled but I'm glad everything seems to be working out for the best.

I had strange dreams last night of mildew spots (like on bread) forming on my hair and my hair was falling out. I know what triggered the dream, but it was still weird lol. The rest of my dreams were great though- but some were stressful.
In the last dream, I returned to a safe spot I made in minescraft to find my chests and furnaces were gone and only a tiny bit of loot was available to recover. I was so angry. I asked how a Creeper could have exploded when I was nowhere in the area.. and then I woke up lol

Time to find some food then get back to the game or to Hulu and crocheting...

It is in the human instinct to speak popularity. We evolved to understand that a group is stronger together(you watch my back, I'll watch yours). So, more relationships, and being socially lovable is an instinct, but the way it is there days is just snobbing and nothing justified. It became more than the need to socialize, in a bad way.
So don't give a crap about that hustle and bustle, cuz you don't need that much status(not like it's a good thing either).

Haha yeah. When I've either got nothing to do or too much to do, I always get messed up with my days, and sometimes even months.

I like that idea though. I've always wanted a house with sort of secretive area/entrances. Having the doors covered and going through the garage would be cool.

Yeah, not only that, when you're popular, people don't really give a fuck about you. Some people appear to because they want to be popular as well.
But if you ever were in danger, they wouldn't risk themselves to help you. Unless you're popular for a good reason, like smart, attractive and friendly/social or something.

A while ago I remembered how I had added her on facebook while drunk, and didn't even remember until like a month later.
Well, turns out she only joined early last year, and barely ever went on there.
Now that she added me, she just happens to start posting more, and pics of her in bikinis and pretty portraits etc.

Hmmmm........

But yeah, it's a slight rave only because I don't think she's that interesting. But who knows, she might be.
I'm not gonna get involved with anyone for quite a while though anyway.

I really need to keep improving myself and focus on studying for university.
I haven't done much recently, and am always really tired. Maybe too much drinking, and staying up til 5 in the morning.

I ended up buying gloves from Perrin Paris (website).
It's a luxury brand that specializes in bags and gloves.
I thought the shipping would be USD $100, but it wasn't. Was $130...
I checked my previous purchase from them from last year. The shipping back then cost me $150.
That's some hefty luxury tax (tip for the person that packed the product).

Yes, Tommo, me not having a life definitely confuses my concept of time :lol: Now that the kids are out of school, they're constantly confused as well!

My rant i that I am dead tired. Hubby and I went to our favorite restaurant one town over (about a 20 minute drive) and I always feel so exhausted after eating there. I don't now if it's just the abundance of food or the extremely dim lighting or both of those things but UGH... I don't really want to go to bed right now. I'd be awake by 3AM if I even lasted that long.
A rave is that, as always, the food was absolutely delicious.

Another rave is that it's getting harder for me to smoke an entire cigarette at once. I no longer really like the taste of them.

I was also worried about my sodium intake. But I read if a person cuts their sodium to 1500 mg, they'd be better for it. On a normal day, mine is at around 1200. Almost all of it comes from slim Jims lol

I really wish I would wake up already...

I'm sick for the first time in 2 years. Fucking sucks. And this is a very hectic time to get sick, but the worst of it is over. I had a midterm yesterday and another today, so the last few days have been hell. Being sick, the last thing I want to do is frantically study for an extremely difficult test for the hardest class I've ever taken. I was so stressed last night... because I just couldn't comprehend the material. I was convinced I was going to fail, that I was going to have to drop out. I started wondering why I'm even in this class, in this difficult degree program for smart people because I'm way too stupid.

But it turns out I'm not the only one who's been having problems in that class. The material just isn't explained correctly. People are allowed to post anonymously on the discussion board, and opinions were voiced. It's a computer graphics class. We basically have to jump right into writing code in a weird language that no one's used before. And use complicated matrix math for projecting and translating coordinate systems and stuff. None of that would even be that bad. It's just that the formulas, etc. aren't explained very well and there's a serious lack of examples. So I spent most of my studying time just trying to figure out what all these formulas are really trying to say and how the hell I'd apply them. But I don't think I did too badly, somehow. It felt like a nightmare last night and I was sure I'd fail, but I'm pretty sure I at least passed. And now it's over. Well I do have to work on a huge assignment due Monday, and then I have another midterm on Wednesday... but at least for this moment I have some breathing room (until I realize that I've procrastinated and start panicking again... I better do something tonight so that doesn't happen, actually).

I actually feel like drinking tonight. I haven't in over a week. But I'm sick... so that wouldn't be a good idea... right? Why do I even feel like it?

Yesterday morning when I got home from work, the plan was to go to a really good nearby diner for breakfast. But they were closed because of some issues with a water pipe.

To make matters worse, my internet died and I couldn't even come here to complain about it!

Boo! Nah, just kidding; the cool thing about Minecraft is that you can play it any way you like. The whole "survival" aspect is what I loved about the game initially. Running around punching trees and hiding in holes the first night or so (until I can get a bed) is all fun for me. :)

The stage after that is a bit boring, when I'm stuck using pathetic tools and limited resources. I'm kinda at that point now. But my XP farm is almost done, so then I'll start enchanting/repairng things left and right. THEN the fun starts. I'm hoping to do some automatic farms (eggs/pumpkins/sugarcane) so I can live off of stacks of pumpkin pie. But I might need to start a slime farm first for sticky pistons... I had a cool slime farm in my last world, so I'll likely do something similar. Then I need to of course work on a proper base, and I really want to do a witch farm in this world. Maybe expand/protect some villages...

Rant: sometimes I wish Minecraft was real life.

That's what happened to me too. I still like the taste/smell of natural tobacco (like American Spirit). Unfortunately (maybe fortunately) I can only get that in one shop around 40 minutes away from here.

I went back to cigs occasionally, but as you say, it's not as enjoyable anymore. And I basically had to force myself to finish it.

It's not really more satisfying to use an e-cig, at all. It's definitely less satisfying. But you also do not get that shitty feeling like you do after having a cigarette.
Cigarettes never fully satisfy you. After one, you just want another straight away.

E-cigs don't have the instant good feeling of normal cigs, but you also don't feel like shit after vaping.


Slight rave: That other Lankan girl at work admitted she has had feelings for me.
The reason this is good really doesn't have much to do with that fact.
It's just that my intuition has been proven right again.

I was getting really worried for a while that the intuition I had about other people all my life was failing for some reason.
But the 3 times that I thought maybe I was wrong in this past year, have turned out that I was right.

This is great.

I mean, this intuition (I hate using the same word over and over again, but it's the best way to describe it), this skill I have with figuring out what people are thinking or feeling, is pretty much the only reason I can function socially. Without it I'd be totally fucked.

So this past year or so, I have questioned my ability and wondered if I deluded myself or if I was losing the ability for some reason, but slowly have realised my initial thoughts were right all along, on several issues in my life.

This makes me happy.

Tommo, I call it an ability to "read people". Intuition works too. I don't know why I've never used that word lol Glad your skill hasn't faded! Reading people is the ONE thing I am excellent at. It's also my curse, though, because I feel the emotions projected by people. It's overwhelming, so it's easier to hide from the world than try to filter out all of that chaos!
Have you ever met someone you absolutely could not read? There was one such person in my past and I didn't trust him. Turns out he was a sociopath :panic: Before I knew just how bad a man he was, I imagined him sitting in front of a mirror, for hours, practicing his cons and mimicking emotions.

And yes... cigarettes do seem to be more instantly satisfying. I was in a lot of pain last night (tummy troubles), so I backslid and have been smoking more. Why is that? Did the pain weaken my resolve/willpower or is there something in ciggies that helps with pain? I'm curious now. Must google lol

I think I might have finally completely cleared out the mining (?) what's it called? It can't be a mineshaft. That implies something small? This mining outfit was friggin huge. It was inside a massive canyon and I stumbled upon tracks on both sides throughout the entire canyon. There were 3 spider spawners and one monster spawner (zombies, I think it was- found it early on). I found 21 pumpkin seeds in all and 7 melon seeds; some gold and iron bars, 3 diamonds, one iron horse armor and lots of junk. There were no chests near any of the spawners :huh:

My rant is my stomach and the fact I've been smoking more. For several days now, I also keep waking to an earache. It's the outside of my ear, though, from laying on it for too long or something. I don't understand why sometimes it's a problem and sometimes it's not.

A rave is that I actually slept very nicely and I woke up at a reasonable time despite not having fallen asleep until nearly 4AM
I have no idea what I'm going to do with my day though lol

So far I have not met anyone like that. A couple of times I have though I couldn't read people because what they said contradicted what I read from them (like these two girls). But later they confirm what I thought.

Yeah I get that emotions thing too. I think that's extreme empathy. It is horrible sometimes. Not sure how related it is to reading people.
But would make sense if it is, with mirror neurons probably being involved in both. Maybe feeling their emotions to such a precise level is what causes the ability to read them in the first place? Interesting.

Well.... cigarettes have been shown to help with bowel problems, such as IBS. Maybe that's what it was. It kinda relaxes everything or something I guess.
Not sure the exact mechanism. Cigarettes, surprisingly, decrease the pain threshold, meaning you notice more pain than usual.

Humans tend to be able to read other humans by subtle expressions. It's an ability humans have evolved to better socially interact. I don't know why you're acting like it's a special power you have. :/

Everyone I have ever met IRL seems somehow stunted. They don't empathize well and they tend to perceive negative emotions and/or intentions even when there aren't any. :huh: I've always felt kind of alone in that regard.

I can't really say, he was an actual sociopath. He did end up killing himself after all. I don't know why I tend to think sociopathd and psychopaths aren't wired for that sort of self-destruction. This guy was a con man. He suckered a whole lot of people. I advised my hubby against doing business with him because I couldn't read him. Like I said, I just didn't trust him one bit. We all spent a great deal of time together, but he stole some 20k or more from hubby and even more money from other people and then he vanished. It was years later that we learned of his suicide in another State.

It's time for me to try to get some sleep (please?) lol. I didn't get a wink last night.

Arg. I am incredibly unwell. I don't know if it was just bad timing and I'm getting a stomach bug or an ear infection or if it was simple dehydration, but GAH!
I'm about ready to write it off as dehydration because I'm starting to feel better.

I fell right to sleep but woke to external earaches and once to a nausea inducing headache so I kept sleeping. I didn't crawl out of bed until 4:30 and I was unbelievably lightheaded and nauseous. I felt punched by hunger so I took a shower, called hubby then ventured out for food. I got an Arby's meal and decided to get a rootbeer for Miley. It was a large and I ended up drinking almost all of it before I got home lol even though I also stopped off and got my usual 52 ounce fountain Coke.
Usually, whenever I'm dehydrated, I crave water and so I drink water. I didn't feel that though which is weird for me.
At this point in time, I firmly believe that fountain drinks are very watered down. I've not had a fountain drink for a couple of days and was drinking can coke instead. :huh: Yeah, I know I need to drink water, but it's so hard to do lol *sigh*

I took a laxative the other day. Today I turned around and took an anti-diarrhea pill :roll: I never do that. Which is what I meant by bad timing. I don't know if the laxative went overboard or I'm getting sick. I can handle cramps but the "fire" is another thing entirely!!!!!! i feel like Bevis and Butthead "AH, my bungholio!!" And I never watched that show :lol:

I played a lot of ?? Dragon Age Origins last night. It's installed on the computer I bought off my daughter. It's okay, but I definitely prefer open games like Oblivion. And I hate not being able to jump.

I've also been watching a show called Luther. The last episode was about a guy deciding his actions with the roll some dice. he's not a nice man, however, so his choices are all bad. But it's an interesting idea. I'd like to try that for a couple of days but with boring choices "Clean, exercise, entertainment, read/study: what sort: For how long... " :D Just something to get me out of my comfort zone a bit.

Why do I see a lot of people bragging about their 'intuition' lately? :D I have a friend whose intuition is pretty good but he has overrated so much that he says he's using his intuition even when he's obviously using logic. (He's bad at reading people though; he can only guess numbers and specific facts, not feelings.)
Anyway, everyone has 2 brains - one in your head and one in your gut. It's nothing special. :P

Rave 2: I've been making clothes and accessories which I shy away from wearing in public, so I'm planning to have a blog to post photos of these things.

So when I finally have found a career that I would like to study it's possible that it's not what I expected it to be. I was stressed the other day (actually, a lot) because I don't know what to study and time to choose is running away, so I took a look (100th, 200th?) on the page of some universities here and criminology caught my attention. I was like ''Oh fine finally something you like!'' but illusions lasted for a very short time when I realized it was not what I thought it was. What I wanted was criminalistics (which I don't know if they're called that way as I am traslating literally from spanish) and no way I can find it in Spain/there's a big lack of information/coherence between pages /I'm just a dumbass which is more likely :D.

Besides that I have a physics exam in two day about electric forces and a math exam about definite integrals (Yay!). This year is going to kill me :panic:.

The first month of waking up to 20 below zero was just kind of a kick in the pants, Just a remember when and even kind of funny at times if like me you have learned to laugh at your own misfortunes,...
