Thread: Rant and Rave, Cry and Complain

Ugh... I just waited for an hour to get gas. It could've been much worse, I reckon. An older man behind me kept getting out of his car and chatting with me.
He told me a joke about 2 groundhogs. They were on one side of the highway when the one said to the other "I wonder what's going on on the other side of the road." The other told him to go look.
Well, at the same time, a woman was driving along and had to pee VERY badly. So she pulled over and sat on the guard rail. At that moment the adventurous groundhog looked up.
He went back to his friend who asked what it was like. His reply was: "It was raining and storming so strongly that all the bird nests were upside down!"
*groans*
hehee. I still laughed though

Walmart is still closed. In fact, Town still doesn't have power which is unusual. Usually the outskirts of town get power last.
But Sheetz was running on a generator so I went in and got some pretzels, peanuts and beef jerky. I told my kids it might not be their favorite foods but it's filling stuff.

She had to get put on special food and lived for a few more years. Good thinking on the weed though. I gave one of my dogs some too coz she is majorly aggressive.
Never seen her happier (and that's saying something for her), she was going crazy running around with bloodshot eyes hahahaha

I'm definitely going to let them know how little she's eating, though I'm not entirely sure how much she was or wasn't before they left. I'm not sure of the entire situation, but she definitely does have tumors... so it's not really surprising. Like I said, she's not a healthy dog....

Hahaha, well I'm glad it mellowed her out, kind of. My friend used to have this cat who always seemed kind of high-strung to me too, until a couple people started smoking it out and then we just made it a habit. Eventually we just called him Stoner Cat, he would always get really into it and then start eating all of the food scraps off the ground, then find a comfy spot to knock out. You had to load the bowls quickly whenever you were smoking or he would come try to eat the bud out of your lap.... Impatient stoner.

I was imaging that in the perspective of the groundhog.

Oh dear goodness it's Rainier Cherry season... I have no money to buy Rainier cherries... but dammit I'm going to buy some Rainier cherries. They're way too expensive but way too good to not be eaten D:

Last year I bought a pound and a half for the family; but no one was home for two hours after I got home. I ended up eating every single one of them that first day and no one even knew we had them. I have a serious problem (but if you see mega-priced Rainier cherries in your grocery store any time soon, and you happen to enjoy cherries, get a half-pound or so. GAH they are soooo good. They're only around once a year in July. In Japan and Australia and places far away from the US, they cost INSANE amounts; I've heard that in Japan you can only get a few cherries for a dollar. And for good reason.)

I won't have any of my favorite fruits again until tangerine season this winter...

I was sorting out some of the old pictures in my folders, when i unintentionally stumbled upon a folder that was named "no"... i had no idea what it was, so i checked and turns out it contains the photos of my old love....

I couldn't help but look through all of them and now i feel so sad I should just delete that folder... but that would be hard...

The past week and this weekend were very enjoyable. Work went well and I was able to sneak in a night at the lake, some music jammin' and watched the Euro Cup 2012 final with friends. Saw some people I had not seen in years which was great. Even more stoked that the 4th is coming up (short work week) and I will be at the lake the whole weekend starting next Friday. Life is good.

On a side note, I also splurged and pulled the trigger on getting a PS3 with Skyrim. I forgot I paid off all my bills besides my cell phone thru August 1st, so why the Hell not!?

I... you're right. I'm sorry. Reading that over again, I clearly didn't word things the way I wanted to. I had no intention of being patronizing. All I meant to say was that my personality wouldn't allow me to work a job I didn't enjoy on some level. I'd get more and more depressed, until I lost the job or totally snapped. Obviously everyone handles things differently, and you'll probably be able to deal with it better than I ever could. I just worry, that's all.

A little while ago, maybe half an hour, I briefly felt a sharp pain in my left side every time I breathed in but it's gone now. Had this happened earlier in the day, I would have gone straight to the hospital (it's only like 10 minutes away, less if there isn't any traffic). But it's almost 7:00 PM and if I go now, that means I'll be waiting there until around 1:00 -3:00 AM. I don't want to sit in the waiting room 6 to 8 hours so I think I'm going to hold off on heading out. If the pain comes back, I'll go but until then I'm just going to watch reruns of The Office.

By this point, I'm more annoyed than I am concerned or w/e. I have shit to do. >_<

EDIT: Ffs, I just remembered that it's Canada Day... The wait time at the hospital is going to be ridiculous, even more so than usual. >___________>

i was in a similar situation about a year ago. taking care of a sick dog for a week. i so badly wanted to take a gun, put it on the dogs head, and pull the trigger, just to put it out of its misery.

the dog ended up dieing naturally a month later.

We may lose power again :/

Can't sleep. It's been like this since last week. My recall is in the toilet and I miss lucidity too.

I'm having the poopiest of all poop days.

Not exactly a poop, on a scale of 1 to poop, butt it's getting there in a hurry.

....oh no I can not justify that!
Much better to go to farmers that leave them outside their house and just take a whole bag for $5 or whatever.
I'll keep a look out for these Rainer Cherries though, should be ok if it's a once off thing.

We have a cherry tree on my property. There's a big fat bowl of them in my kitchen right now.

They're 6 USD here for a pound of Rainiers (mostly since they're domestic), whereas normal Bing cherries and black cherries are about 2-3 USD per pound. It's not TERRIBLE for Rainiers price-wise (The only cheaper place would be Washington state) but it's still almost 3 times the regular price. Totally worth it though. They're better than candy.

Speaking of candy, THIS:

All of the Chinese restaurants around here have these in a bowl. They're amazing! Guava flavoured.

Bought a video game today and brought it home. Turns out its an expansion pack. I thought it was too cheap to be fallout 3! Theres 20 down the drain.

And right now my back is numb. Just like the lower left part of it. Weird. :/

Looks like we're keeping our power after all. The lightning was awesome! I've never seen lightning as impressive as tonights before.
Right before the storm arrived, I went to Wal-mart. I have to rethink the whole Zombie-apocalypse thing. Wal-mart had scant supplies since the outage Friday night. Bread was molding on the shelves. There was no meat, milk etc. Can goods were dwindling.
So this is going to be a thin week. I only had $50. left and hubby refused to give me more. I bought peanut butter, 3 loaves of bread,2 cans of kidney beans, a large thing of rice, some cheese slices (which they surprisingly had an abundance of), some margarine and mayo, dog food, TP and paper towels and that's it. Oh yes, I got 2 cans of Cream of Mushroom soup for the rice.
That's it for the week.
We still have a lot of eggs from last week though.

Ugh...

Hubby always pulls though for me if worse comes to worse.
