It's sad that people get so scared to help. The adults would have easily outclassed the punks.
I hope you two are okay.
I give you the *hug* instead of the *like*

Thank you for the advice. :) At the moment, it looks like we are just going to stick it out and see what happens. I personally think it will change for the worse. I was strongly considering switching troops, but I'm just going to stay with my friends. So as long as I'm with friends, well manage to put up with/ignore the annoying people in the troop.
Remember that adults phase out over time, and the scouts who remain good leaders come back to be ASMs and instructors. You can make the difference.
I wish you well and offer you my left hand.
I was just the organizer of what may be the classiest bonfire party ever. In fact, it should be called a "Bon Fiere" (with a snarky French accent). I did the "paper bag with candles in it" to create a walkway from the house out to the fire (so people would avoid walking in the garden or giant holes in the field), had Yo-yo Ma playing in the background, and provided some home-crafted hors d'oeuvres for snacking. And we had a cooler full of pop. The star-gazing was spectacular, too.
I'm already planning my next one, scheduled for the Perseids meteor shower peak, and I MUST top it.
By the way, where's Zhaylin been? I haven't seen her post here in a while :(
I worked 13 days straight, half of which were 12hr days. So yesterday I got out of work at 3pm and was dying to finally get a bike ride in even though it was kinda stormy out.
It was really awesome. Storm growling in the background, light mist of rain... all the birds were low to the ground looking for food. The trails goes along the river, and it looked awesome with all the ripples from the real light rain. I rode about 8 miles then turned around because the thunder started getting louder. Then about 1.5 miles from my apartment, the wind kicked up. Few seconds later, it just started to pour.. I was completely soaked head-to-toe in under 3 seconds, and then continued to get dumped on for the rest of the ride.
Somehow these last two posts don't really seem like rants...and that's okay.
Rant: I want food but I'm full. Sucks.
I literally did nothing today, and it always makes me irritated when I don't do a single thing other than playing video games in a day, kinda like a wasted day...
The cushions are off the sofa....and I saw a back-popping bug on the curtain.
I went after it, standing on the chair arm, but I knocked it off to the other curtain.
When I stepped down to the sofa to get it from its new location, my knee fell against the back board of the sofa.
It hurt.
My knee exploded in pain and I fell on my back.
I didn't cry.
It's red....and swollen.
Walking sucks.
When you see a bug on the curtain and you have that urge to kill it.....just say no.
:(
Speaking of bugs... why was there a huge cluster of dead bugs along the one wall of my apartment? Seriously, there were tons of them. I should have taken a picture of the dust pan after I swept them all up. I had a drum bag in front of that area so never saw it till I moved the bag.
I never see bugs flying in the apartment. But almost all the dead bugs were really small ant-like things with wings.
Also, biked again today. Avoided the rain, but 10 miles in a wire from the rear brake started rubbing against the disc. Knowing virtually nothing about bike mechanics, I had/have no clue what/why it's doing that, but I spend a solid hour trying (and failing) to "fix" it. While working on it, the bike slipped and the wheel spun. My finger got caught in the spokes and then got sliced pretty deeply by the brake/disc. I eventually said screw it, and drove with the wire scraping. It eventually died down in volume to the point where I didn't notice it...
Sefalik's avatars often have big frowny faces.
It makes me sad, like I wonder why with the frowny face :blue:
Oh, I guess mine isn't exactly beaming with joy either
i think frowny faces look really funny. like upside down smiles. so much so, that at one point when my ex was really upset i had to bite my lip to keep from smiling. she was making a ridiculous frowny face... can't help it
he makes a real good one, but that's not it. i was too lazy to look through episodes to find a better one though.
House just finished. Last episode
:(
I feel almost sick. It's like the feeling you get when you graduate, where you feel good but at the same time incredibly sad that everything's over and nostalgic.
Except without the feeling good part.
:(
So, I made the mistake for a 3rd time and ordered a Phaal/Phall curry with extra chilies. I have issues.
My country, on the news today:
If you buy a pasty from a heat cabinet, it is classed as a hot food and so you've gotta pay higher tax, but if the shopkeeper takes the food from the cabinet and puts it on the shelf...such that it's cold. Then it's alright, and it's free from said tax. And now revisions of this are being proposed.
Right... great priorities and coverage. :/
I have a headache
It's 28 degrees Celsius today
Fuckkk :(
It's 32.78 degrees Celsius here. It's actually cooler than it has been.
91 Farenheit.
Still, that's hot for up there in Canada.
78 blisters on my hands from swinging an axe!
At least you didn't accidentally get your thumb. :silent:
