Alright, but it's not going to be a very exciting story. I've had a few brushes with death so far, and this hasn't been the scariest (by far), but it has been the creepiest.
I guess I have something against being watched. The worst nightmares are those of being stalked.
So, anyways, I was driving home from a friends house a little past rush hour. I was still reasonably hungover, but I had to be home in time and I thought that I could manage the drive.
Once I got onto the county highway, the road started tripping me out so I decided that I should take a nap as I felt like I was starting to become a danger to other people on the road. A quick twenty minute cat nap should fix things up, right?
I pulled over into an empty church parking lot. This looked like a nice neighborhood and the church was quite beautiful. I was the ONLY car in the entire large parking lot. The only person within sight was a single man mowing the church's lawn.
So I decided to not even be discrete about it and just go ahead and park the car right in the middle of the parking lot and take a short nap.
I couldn't sleep though. Things just kept racing through my mind. Sometimes I swear I could hear people walking past my car but I wasn't sure. I thought it was probably just my imagination.
Not even ten minutes later I decide that I should leave. I felt better now even though I didn't get any sleep, but something was telling me to GTFO.
I checked my mirrors and there still wasn't anyone in sight, so I slowly left my parking space.
As I started to move, a car that was right next to me became visible.
I suck at explaining things, so here is a bad picture of how it was parked next to me. My car is the box shaped one. Parked in a parking spot.
All I could think was
Holy Mother of Buddha, there was a car there.
It was white and had its windows tinted. It could have chosen anywhere to park in the 2 acre lot, but instead it parked at the perfect angle behind me where I couldn't see it in any of my mirrors. What the fuck? Yes. Coincidence? No.
It gets creepier though.
The county highway is right off the entrance to the church. So cars are perfectly visible on the highway from the church parking lot.
By the time I had finally gotten out of there and back onto the highway, I took one last glance at the church parking lot.
The white car had completely turned around and was now facing the highway again...Kind of as if it was watching me drive away.
All I could think about was how fucking creepy that car was. And what would have happened if I had fallen asleep?
I know, it doesn't sound like a very creepy story to most of you, but the scariest thing to me is the notion of being watched/stalked, so it really shook me up.
Lesson learned: death awaits in church parking lots
