I saw a specialist today about my lungs and she said that I've almost completely healed, it'll just take a few more days. I have to get a CT scan done though so they can check if there are any bumps, blisters, irregularities, etc on my lungs. If they find any, she says I can choose to undergo minor surgery to reduce the risk of my lungs collapsing again. She said I shouldn't smoke marijuana at all ever again but I have a feeling that she said that because of her moral stance on the matter. For one thing, she was Asian and most Asians (at least around here) tend to be raised on a super strict moral code that's very anti-drug. She was also wearing a cross around her neck so...
All the other doctors I talked to said smoking small amounts once in a while should be fine though. Then again, this doctor was a specialist. I'm not about to completely disregard a legitimate medical concern just for the sake of getting high, but to be honest I don't plan on stopping altogether. Cannabis has helped me mature and drastically changed the way I think, I'm much more appreciative of everything around me and more level-headed than I used to be and that's because of the marijuana. I used to waste an hour or two every day on these stupid rituals or compulsions but ever since I started blazing (along with a bit of cognitive behavioural therapy), I haven't had to worry about that. I'll just have to cut down on the smoking, maybe one joint a week, and switch to baked goods and vaporizing as soon as I can.
It might be hard to bake brownies without anyone noticing but there's a real push for legalization going on right now in Canada (especially here in BC) so hopefully, I won't have to worry about hiding it for too long. And even if it isn't legalized, the medical marijuana laws should ease up substantially by the end of the year so there's a good chance I can get medical marijuana card. Hell, my physician told me I should be allowed to have one already but said there's no point in applying - under the current MMJ laws, even cancer patients have a hard time getting their card. And as for a quick fix, I'll try to buy a vaporizer by the end of the month. As far as I'm aware, vaporizing won't harm my lungs at all but I'll double check with a doctor just to be safe.
