I thought this Sociohorticulture exam coming up Thursday wasn't going to be a big of a deal, but WOW. The TA and the professor are really trying to scare everyone with the review sheets given to us. Like honestly, some of these terms we learned in class was so easy to memorize, what is the point of scaring us with a crapload of questions on the review sheet?

It's going to be all multiple choice, so why make it look like it's going to be hard? Lmao, this type of class is one of those "blow it off and get a good grade" but the profs still try to make it look hard. Do they just love adding unnecessary stress?

Why must my parents ask me to go somewhere with them to help translate, when I'm high? It's always a ridiculous unpleasant experience - I have try hard not to laugh while translating, resist the urge to say the wrong thing just for the hell of it, if I get nervous I screw up and look like a retard, etc. The absolute worst is when they expect me to translate something into English, when I can't even understand what they're talking about. My Dad recently bought a truck from this guy and there seems to be something wrong with it; he tried to explain what was wrong but I couldn't follow along since he was using Punjabi for things I don't even know the English word for (I don't know anything about cars or engines). How the hell am I supposed to call the guy and tell him what's wrong if I don't even understand what my Dad just told me? My parents seem to think that if I can speak English, I should be able to translate anything and everything with ease. >_<

My back's mangled as well, I can't walk properly. I'm hoping it's just sore but it feels like there might some misalignment. I really don't want to go see a doctor or a chiropractor, hopefully it gets better on it's own soon.

I took off the rest of the tape (except for my navel). One of the wounds didn't close properly but it's still healing just fine. I used waterproof bandaids on all of them then had a nice hot shower. Ahhh... but that belongs in another thread

You're a nice mum. And I guess that is precisely one of the reasons why my mum refused to let me own a pet. Thinking that I'll just leave it to let the family look after, considering that I can't even look after myself well. Gosh, and I realised I'm young enough to be your daughter. Just started trying to do web development again and am dealing with a lot of recursion and composites. I now remember why I stopped years ago!!!

It started out when I finally click a link on fake DV to the real dv but when I signed in it would take me to fake dv again and I was to lazy to find out how to correct it so for like 10 days I was on other websites. Then I saw a post on another lucid dreaming site saying that it changed to DreamViews.org >_<

So yeah im back...

Think they're used at the soup bar also?

Agh, once again way too much to catch up on. It's late here, so I can really only respond to a couple people, but to all, just the same.

Link: I gotta say, I have to agree with Alyzarin on the guards. Try a non-violent approach. Then again, being the pacifist I am I'm never going to endorse violence against random DCs... Without knowing more of the situation, I can't say, but my instinct is that you want to work with your subconscious, not against it. I mean, I figured that was the general idea, at least. A "me vs. them" mentality doesn't seem to get you very far, at least. (You've been at this for over a year? Such patience! o.o)

Zhaylin: I'm glad you took care of your pesky gallbladder, but recovering can't be very fun. I think those bandages would drive me crazy too, but I would be too nervous to rip them off. Glad you seem to be mostly recovering without incident, though.

If I have a rant, it's that Link's situation sort of reminds me of my own. Although I don't have antagonistic guards in my dreams, they also don't conform to what I want. Most of my dreams are actually quite boring... mainly involving me playing videogames or hanging out with family or friends. There's generally enough silliness to at least have something to mention, but it's not the sort of dreams I want to have. But, reading what Alyzarin wrote makes me think. Maybe I need to actually give the dreams I have right now some respect. Right now I don't even bother writing them down. It's no surprise that my recall hasn't improved. But maybe in the midst of the boredom there are, in fact, messages I should be paying attention to... I rarely even consider dream interpretation. It's time for me to place more emphasis on respecting and interpreting my dreams... effective immediately. I need to get to bed! *zzz*

Trust me, I've tried being nice and forming a relationship with my subconscious, in fact, reading guides on finding your DG, I even tried making it into a Teddy bear ending.

Nope, the second or so OBE I've had, I meet a blonde, she says she's my dream guide. I start hugging her, and she has her legs on my love handles. I ask her to prove it.

Her eyes get all big and everything, and bam, I wake up. I know what you mean by forming a relationship, but it's not working for me. I don't know anymore, maybe I just need to get lucid and stop hating myself lol.

Until I meet my Dream guide, then I will respect it more.

And sometimes going against it can make it try to reach out to you more, and when it does, you surprise it with a SNEAK HUG ATTACK!

Well, something worked out last night. I remember 4 dreams, and even though they all have elements of the stuff I mentioned above (family or games) they're all more interesting than the ones I usually have. And the last one is just plain unusual for me to have. They involved varying degrees of violence, though, which I just got done saying I thought was a bad thing! Stupid brain. xD I won't argue though, and I guess I'd better post them here to show that I actually care about them.

Link: I really don't know what to tell you. I've had my own goal in mind for the last three years or so, and I'm not even sure it's possible. I mean, I trust my best friend's judgment, but there's always the chance he's just crazy. Without going into details, it's like WakingNomad's theory on the Dream Plane, but with some personal twists on it. I guess it's a bad thing that even if my friend is completely wrong I'd rather be deluded with him than sane alone... but I don't really care at this point.

I have to admit that different things work for different people, but... is it possible you're trying too hard? From your posts in here in general, I get the opinion that you worry and stress about things too much. I know how that one goes because I used to be the exact same way, and on my bad days I still do that. I'd say give it a break for a few days, if you can, and relax a bit. Take a break from trying to control your dreams and see what bubbles up naturally. There's always a chance you'll learn something new, right? And if not, well, you can shoot me later.

I did take a break recently (in fact, I can't even try to attempt LD during weekdays because of college). And even if I do a WBTB, I end up losing consciousness for a WILD anyway.

I haven't been trying too hard lately, and I know I stress out a lot as well, but when I'm dreaming, I have little control over my dreams. I'm mostly seeing myself invading and all that, but I never had the mentality of actually trying to go hardcore with fighting my subconscious.

That may contradict on what I said about fighting with my dreams, but I honestly just sleep and not worry, it's like a part of me is doing all the work without my conscious decision to follow them through, because when I do become lucid, I am actually at "zen" so to speak.

Instead of fighting my subconscious, I made a goal a few weeks ago to find a certain someone on Dream Views, and then another one to find before finding the first. I find I'm getting more humanized dreams now.
