I find this kind treatment of animals revolting. I could care less for people getting hurt while performing these cruel activites.

Why was the bull killed? I've seen plenty of bulls go at a rider like that; this one just happened to get a guys throat with his horns.

I agree that bull-fighting is barbaric. Blood sports aren't something I'd ever agree with.

But I dislike how people react to things like this. The man is a sportsmen, and possibly a good one. I disagree with the game he plays, but it's a fascinating game all the same (perhaps more so because it is so morally disagreeable). The culture of the bull-fight is so theatrical, so vividly alive that I would always recommend that people study it more closely without feeling this contradicts their ethical objections. You can call for its end as a sport, which I'd sign on for, but you can do so without forgetting that it is a far more intriguing sport than simply MAN KILLIN ANIMUL FOR FUN?? HOPE MAN DIES.

The matador, the picador, the toreadors, the banderilleros, the bull and the spectator. A cruel theatre. But a fascinating one for that. Read Death in the Afternoon. "Bullfighting is the only art in which the artist is in danger of death and in which the degree of brilliance in the performance is left to the fighter's honour."

Let's end bull-fighting. But let's not miss out on understanding it while it's still alive and active, before we lose the chance.

No tommo, they didn't kill the bull because he injured the toreros, they ALWAYS kill the bull. The whole " show" is about the torero and other figures slowly killing the bull, weakening it in the beginning throwing spears at him, then stabbing him and at last killing him with one stroke. Yes, I think it's obscene, but the even more disgusting thing is the backstage. Before "fighting" they usually drug the bull to disorientate it thus reducing his fighting capabilities, and/or they stick vaseline in they're eyes so they're almost blind.... brave huh?

Oh, forgot about that. They're still idiots.

Bring back gladiators.
