Who cares about the Royal Wedding?

It seems to always be on the news, and if you ask me, I think some of the news reporters are pretending to care or they might loose their job.

At least you don't have to fork the bill for their honeymoon.

I care not. People that go gaga over celebrities are kind of sad. :/ I might care about the royal wedding if Prince William and that chick he's marrying cared about my future wedding plans. If they don't, why should I bother with theirs? I wish them the best. My life goes on..

Nope. Jeez, two people getting married, whoop-de-do. The royal family does fuck-all, or at least, I don't think they do except use up money.

Didn't realise it was such worldwide news... I only remember it being on terrestrial TV a couple of times, in fact.

I don't care. We're having a street party which might be fun, but I do not care one jot about the Royals. If I were King today I'd have the monarchy disbanded by tomorrow.

But I could honestly give a sh** about celebrities really. I'm more interested in what's happening in Wisconsin, not some... people that we must worship, who are apparently in some way better and more interesting than everyone else.

Where else would they get the money? They literally do nothing but eat up tax payer money.

They have a huge personal fortune (although it may have been tax money from like back in the middle ages or something).

Well I guess cartoons are different. I unwind by watching south park and family guy. Not really "celebrities" in fictional shows (unless you count the ones being parodied). xD

I'm glad I'm not alone lol. I've actually been waiting for someone to come to this thread and shoot me down.

I wish them the best, but jeez I'm definitely not going to be watching the news when it comes down to the last couple of weeks before the wedding. I don't know why so many people (apparently) are celebrating this, especially when some of it is coming out of their pocket. I'm sure there's poverty of some kind out there in their country where the money could be going.

I don't know where the money came from, but it gets me a day off school, so I'm happy! :D

At least we are introducing the first attractive lady into the Royal family ;)

They may pay for their own weddings, but from what I see Marvo is right. They don't do anything but eat up resources.

I mean, does the public symbol really unite people in tradition or does it cause division on ideas of personal worth? I really don't care that much- it doesn't effect me- but I imagine if I were British it would piss me off to pay money to someone just because they were born.

And the fact that they have fortunes makes it even worse. If the government is going to use money to keep institutions and buildings alive, wouldn't it better serve the underprivilaged?

Yeah well like I said, from an idealistic perspective I would disband the monarchy if I could. The money thing is actually a non-issue though, because they bring in more than we spend on them through tourism.
