Working on a DV game

It's a side scroller with Mario-like controls. Similar plot to Mario: The Evil Alex has captured the Cupcake Princess and only a Ninja can rescue her. There may be other members scattered about too Let me know if you want to be a boss or something. All the frills are there, powerup mushrooms, flying powers, swimming levels, ice levels, gold coins, ghost houses, castles. Plus some new additions to make it more unique including outer space levels, swimming through sap, psychedelic mushrooms, and various weapons. Here is a screenshot. These graphics were lifted from the web and just filler (I'm working on the engine right now, not the graphics,) the final game will look a little different. I could use a hand with the pixel art if anyone wants to help. I expect to have a beta release in January and the final version in March 2011. That'll go faster if people volunteer to do graphics or level design.

ninjabot V2 will be featured right? I might make that the flying powerup, I always preferred the raccoon tail way of flying a la Mario 3 than the cape. Actually, there will be a whole Mechanized world, the bots will probably be in there.

How about members who've impacted DV ie the most well-known members? pst.. no spamming the boards after reading this post n00bs.

Make this and you will be my hero. I've tried pixel art before, it's actually kinda tricky (I suck at it )If you're looking to make original BGM's , I'm big into music, but I know plenty of people on DV are.

I might be able to help with the base sprites (pixel art), but you'll have to do the animating. xD I suck at conveying movement in animation.

I don't regret stepping down but I would hate to miss out on being involved in a DV game! I'm the gamer of DV baby! -> Elimination game. HULLO!!? Lol

Spock approves of this. And I make a request that my penis/tape worm avatar is an enemy at some point. Heck, it could be a thing that, every once in a while, comes out of tubes instead of the venus man-traps. After all, my avatar made a cameo in the Saga of DV instead of me, so it would stick with the motiff. Just a suggestion/request, anyway. EDIT: Heck, if you really wanted it to be a very DV mario, instead of the mario enemy sprites the basic enemies could be various DV members. Somebody could be goombas and koopas and someone else is flying goombas and red koopas... It would be a way to fit in lots of members if you are interested in that idea.

I expect to have a beta release in January and the final version in March 2011. I turn 18 on March! But anyway, this sounds like it's going to be really cool. I hope I can be a character. It doesn't have to be a boss character, I'm happy to be one of those fucked up little turtles that walk off the edge of things or something like that.

Tell me where you think you guys should be in these 9 worlds: Plains World - mostly grass, lots of koopas walking around, some birds Puffin, Spockman-like worms, Black Eagle Water World - underwater mostly, fish and squid enemies, trolls under brigdes: MCat, TomofForks, Wanted Mountains World - Lots of ledges to fall off of, and some caves, ghosts Clouds World - Hazy world, some storms, some ice, ClouD Forest World - Lots of trees to climb through, things hidden in leaves, swimmable sap Acid World - trippy effect, unicorns, weird colours, varying gravity Giants World - everything is huge Mechanized World - everything is machines, steel and concrete, ninjabot, slashbot, dreambot Alex’s World - Lots of lava, traps, and everything from other worlds If anyone wants to come up with some outlines for levels in some of these world, please go ahead, just use graph paper and draw it up, I'll convert it to json level code
