Women your age are interested in more than good looks, especially the confident ones. They want someone else who is confident as well. This older woman is not interested in you, she just saw two things about you; that you are fairly nice to look at and are not confident (otherwise she wouldn't have told you to be more confident) and decided to let you know. I would say, take her advice to heart.
