Maid Cafes

Thank god for internet anonymity. Talking about such an awkward topic is so much easier when you know you don't have to deal with the people you talk to about it on a regular basis.

Anyways.

I've been interested in maid cafes since I've heard of the concept. Unfortunately, is is obvious, most of them happen to be in Japan.

So I was wondering if any of you guys (Which probably means none...) would happen to know about any maid cafes in the New England, or even New York areas? Google has failed me.

I highly doubt there are ANY maid cafes in America at all.

However, I bet you'd find some playboy bunny type bars in America.

I've had thoughts of running a bar with catgirl maids and bunnygirls :3

Are you talking like Gothic Lolita type cafes? I went to a tea party like that one time, but it was at an anime convention.

From what Wiki tells me, there's SUPPOSED to be maid cafes in the west, but fuck me if I can find any.

And I don't want to go to Japan just to go to one, either.

Well I have seen one on a video in New York but I have no idea what it's called.

Haha sorry. I was thinking of catgirl maids for some reason. Thinking of catgirl maids makes me think of bunnygirls in their outfits. I don't know why :V

I don't get maid cafe's appeal. I mean I feel uncomfortable when people cater to my needs; makes me feel lazy, but if you really want it, I could get you some prostitutes dressed up as maids :D

@ All: Thinking about actually opening up a maid cafe, and here's what I have so far

It'll be a sort of "design your own maid" sort of thing. You go in, and there's a sort of "menu" for maids. God that sounds creepy. Not like this whole affair isn't, though. From that menu, you can pick out what sort of personality type you want for your maid (Tsundere, Shrinking Violet, Yamato Nadeshiko, Genki Girl, etc., all of which our trained staff will be able to act like for your... Convenience.) You can pick whether or not you want your girl to wear glasses, what sort of hair style (Twin-tails, pig tail, loose, etc. Once we get more girls working, I think I should start offering actual different hairstyles. Or just get wigs. Wigs work too.), whether or not they'll be dojikko (Clumsy girl. For an extra ten bucks, you can have your maid spill your food on their first try! Reactions will vary based on personality type, of course.) I was even thinking of offering a "violent tsundere" service, where if you choose the tsundere personality, for an extra ten bucks you can have her commit light physical violence on you (Slaps, etc.) I was also considering some sort of service where the girls speak light Japanese. I.E. The tsundere would call you a "baka" at every possible interval, the Shrinking Violet Dojikko who spills your coffee everywhere would let out a meek "gomenosai". There would, of course, also be a Zettai Ryouiki option, where you can select from even Grade F to Grade A. There would, of course, be a special combo package for Grade S Zettai Ryouiki: Grade A Zettai Ryouiki + Tsundere Personality + Twintails Hair Style.

Stop looking at me like that.

We'd also offer butlers. I, of course, would have no qualms working as a butler. :3

Food and drink, of course, would be a separate payment from the maid service.

Obviously, this isn't a whorehouse, nor a stripclub, so there would be rules. Primarily, don't touch the maids. Ever. This isn't about being sexual. It's about being cute and adorable.

Anyways, what do you guys think of my silly little plan so far?

For twenty dollars, your maid/butler will cross-dress. Males will dress as maids, females will dress as butlers.

For ten dollars, your maid/butler will spoon-feed you your food.

I see it working in Japan, but not in the US because even though manga/ anime is steadily gaining popularity here, it's still a small niche and the die hard fans who would know what tsundere and whatnot would be an even smaller niche and you'd probably end up with some disturbed patrons who have no idea why there maid is hitting them.

I do see the possibility of a normal maid cafe with them just serving you working out, though.

@ Dorpis: The idea was to market just the maids without any of the otaku stuff to the general public, but let there be a secret menu that only otakus who know what's going on can ask about.

Of course, someone else recommend I start with a Wild West themed restaurant to get started. Considering the American obsession with the Wild West, it may very well work. Sort of like the Victorian Bar in Questionable Content.

The mind has one and only one definition, one defined purpose. It is independent of gender, even of being human or other-wise. What differs is resources and ability to accomplish that function.

In any event, the desire to rule of another, means that one wishes to supplant them in regard to their own body. This is a dysfunction.
