Well, I think that RCing should be used in the beginning, but I don't think you necessarily have to. I used to RC, but I didn't do them that much, I suppose since I got LD's without them. For me, FEW of my LD's started from a RC. I think that you should be aware of where you are, how you got there more, I think people find that really helpful. I think that if you don't have one already, a DJ is MUCH more important. As I always say, you should be able to start to feel your dream "aura", even more so in LD's. For me, I think this is sometimes what makes you ask yourself if I am dreaming.

If you still want to do RC's, which to me should get less important after you get a "small handful of LD's", as I always say, quality is the most important. Make sure you ANSWER yourself- "yes I am dreaming" or "no I am not dreaming". Make sure you think about it for a minute, because if you don't, you may RC in a dream, and not become lucid .

A bit off topic, but I never hear anyone say anything about a "dream aura", do you others know what I mean by that (probably?), and do you think what I say about the dream aura is true?
If you see a strange typo in my post, blame my iPad for that.

I have been doing some lucid dreaming off and on for quite some time now, and I still find that RCs help dramatically. I also think it can vary from person to person as well. For some, it may be better to RC every hour in the day. For others, it may be to simply remember what happened the night before in their dreams by writing in their dream journals. I also have to agree with what Lucid is talking about. There seems to be something about dreams that feel different in a way, and after several LDs you will be able to pick up on this "aura" that Lucid refers to it as. I would always call it a "vibe" that I am getting when using my senses. There is just something about your environment that doesn't feel right if it were real.

Just be patient, and use all the techniques together until you find which one is the best to focus on. The time will come

Lucid goals: Fight and kill Jacob Black [X], Go trick or treating as a wolf [ ], Help a pack stalk and hunt a large extinct game animal [ ], Play fetch with a DC [ ], Become a shape-shifting spy deployed behind enemy lines [ ], Face and fight off a nightmare as a wolf [X], After transformation look in mirror and really observe every detail about my body [ ]

OK, cool, I'm not the only what that talks about the "dream" aura (even if you call it something different ). I just never hear people talk about it! I suppose it does depend on the person how well they are.

Maybe if RC's don't seem to work after a month or something, then RC's aren't for you? And, of course, you have to be trying to do your RC's well, and do them fairly often for what I said to be in effect.

Well, I just made up the term on the fly in order to explain the feeling to myself. Like you said, no one ever really came up with a term for it before so I did not know a term to tag it with for myself, until today! I like your term much better! mine really does not make any sense to tell you the truth, lol.

Like you said, it is weird that more people don't talk about it as well, because I am sure everyone experiences something similar.

Hey, thanks! Yup, I came up with that term at some point...months ago, I guess . Yeah, I guess people probably don't really think about their dreams as having an "aura". I bet that they're just thinking that dreams are just dreams and are weird, of course they're not reality . But like I've already said, it's not just that, you get the "feeling"- the aura. If people were to read what I say about it, though, I'm sure that can't deny it.
