      Greetings, fellow dreamers.

      Hello all,

I'm a 21 year old female college student. I used to be a Cognitive Science major, but I switched to Classical Studies. Still, the brain fascinates me, and dreams are a particularly interesting phenomenon.

I've had interest on and off in lucid dreaming for years. However, I've never been able to pull one off (intentionally, anyway), probably because I've never made a really dedicated effort. I thought joining this forum might inspire me. I'm going to start a dream journal, which will require overcoming the great laziness I feel when I first wake up. Last night I dreamed that I woke up and wrote in my dream journal, but this does not actually happen when I woke up for real...lol.

I'm not quite sure what I want to accomplish with lucid dreaming, but it sounds like the possibilities are pretty much endless, so I've got a lot of ideas!

oh, and as a side note, I'm really intrigued by the idea of shared dreaming. I have to say I'm pretty skeptical that it exists but it's an awesome concept (Christopher Nolan apparently agrees, if you've all seen the trailer for the movie Inception, which looks sweeeet). Still, it would be amazing, to go into someone else's dream...

I don't believe in shared dreaming either but i imagine it would be fun to have a laser tag fight on the moon if shared dreaming existed. I'm trying to do RC (reality checks) every time I wake up just incase i have a false awakening

Did you learn anything in cognitive science about dreaming?

Not really, I don't think we really discussed sleep at all...I wish there was a Psychology or Neuroscience of Sleep class!
