Uh, why did the RC fail? When you do them, do you stop to question whether you are awake or asleep?

I agree, awareness is a major factor in lucid dreaming.

You have to do multiple RCs. I had 2 fail me in a row before finally getting one to work. I used to only do the nose one(hold your nose and try to breathe through it), but in a recent lucid, I had to do it 4 times before it worked. I think looking at text works almost all the time. If you look at certain text a few times, it should change. I use my digital watch for that.
If you question whether you are dreaming, you probably are for sure.
