bear with me, i'm new =)

so, if I post a bunch of messages with a certain sig and avatar, and then get bored and change my avatar, does the avatar for the messages I already posted change too? how about the sig?
and how do i add a picture to my sig?

Based on my experience, your Avatar will change on your old messages, but your sig will not.
As for an picture in your sig, I think you have to upload the image somewhere, and then put HTML code in your sig to point to its location -- but the mods can probably explain that one better than I can.
In my experience, both avatar and sig on all your posts (old+new) change
<<shrug>> Before I posted that reply, I checked some of the posts I made before I ever added a signature to my profile, and they still did not have a signature.
