      Wink Meditation and dream recall

      Hi all,

New here, but not new to the empowering adventures of lucid dreaming. So glad to find a group interested in this important psychological technique.

I've found that meditating helps dream recall, and the explanation is simple, I think: 1. brain waves "chill," for lack of a better term, preparing one for sleep, and 2. one practices piercing through illusions (the imagination goes buck wild even an hour into a Vipassana session) as par for the course in meditation. You just breathe through the images, storylines, and whatever else arises. Thus, you're preparing yourself to question the "dream reality." A technique for LDing is to ask yourself, "Am I dreaming?" and to use certain cues. The meditator is already aware that the waking world is full of dreams.

I had very powerful dreams during a meditation retreat, and I believe it was the sharp focusing of the mind during the day that contributed to the clarity at night.

      Any ideas, folks?

Here's a blog I'm working on, if anyone would like to share their stories for a project I'm working on: http://speakyourdreams.wordpress.com/

Thank you, and again, glad I found you. --Tim
