      Technique for first LD?

I'm just getting started here and want to know if there's something else I should be trying for me to get my first LD. Basically all I've been doing is thinking about the subject a lot and doing reality checks all the time durning the day. I've been keeping a journal and I'm having some pretty good dream recall.

Is this reality check way a good thing to try at first, or is there another way that's just as easy?

Sorry if this was covered in the FAQ, I've been reading so many pages about LDs I can't keep it all straight.

i would say the RC way is a good jump start to learn to become aware in a dream, however you may want to perform a MILD or WBTB to increase your probiblity of having a lucid dream

So last night I repeated over and over again in my head that I would have a dream and realize I was dreaming. I must have woken up 5 or 6 times throughout the night right after a dream. I also had my first ever false awakening. But I never became lucid or even realized I was dreaming.

It was quite odd to me that I kept waking up, but I guess that's okay. Anyway, my question is this: Am I getting any real sleep while doing this? Am I eventually going to be getting really tired? And another thing, will I eventually remember to do a RC in my dream if I just keep doing them while I'm awake?

      Thanks
