      Howdy people

Hi everybody. I want to say that I'm very glad I found this site. I have been lurking here and doing lots of reading for about 2 months and finally decided to register. All the information on the main site and the discussions here are wonderful and informative. I also want to thank the two Dream Guides who sent me PM's welcoming me to the forum.

I should probably introduce myself. My name is Jonathan Reding. One PM I got asked why my username is jwreding, and that should explain it. That's the name I use to post on most forums, and also my email address username. My middle name is Whitaker, which explains the "w." I live in the beautiful and exciting state of Indiana. I am from Anderson but right now I am living in Bloomington. I went to Indiana University the past two years but now I am going to Ivy Tech in Bloomington to pursue a career in nursing.

I have always had a deep interest in dreams and the workings of the mind in general. I can't remember how I stumbled on this site since it was several months ago, but I'm sure I was searching Google for some dream-related topic that I was interested in. My dreams have always been very vivid and interesting and I look forward to sleeping every night and seeing what my mind will come up with next. I had my first very-semi-lucid dream just about a week ago and I'm sure it was somewhat caused by spending so much time on this site. I saw something that I just knew wasn't supposed to happen (the bare frame of a truck trying to drive itself up the outer wall of my house to be exact) and thought "I have to be dreaming." I then proceeded to do a couple of reality checks, and they both failed, but I was still convinced it was a dream for some reason. I didn't get to take advantage of the lucidity however because I quickly woke up. I'm not sure if it was because I got excited or if it was just time for the dream to be over, because I do remember that I had been dreaming for quite a while before this happened. It's fun to know that I have at least one minor LD under my belt now, though so I will be more prepared for the next one.

That's about all I'll bother you guys with for now. I won't go into extensive details about myself, because I am sure I will mention them as I start posting more often. I doubt I'll post a whole lot starting out since I don't have enough knowledge and experience about lucid dreaming to contribute much, plus it takes me a while to get comfortable posting in any new message forum. I'm looking forward to having fun and learning a lot here.

Hey there Jonathan! Seems like you lurked around here for quite a while and I'm glad you finally decided to join us It's always nice to have another college-age person here who can relate. I'm a 2nd-year Junior at the U of Montana studying foreign language. I joined DV in July and just as I think I was starting to get the hang of things, school hit. Stupid school

Congrats on your first LD! Too bad it wasn't very long, but with some practice they'll come easier. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask. We're here to be a resource. Also, if you want to you can also feel free to PM someone with a question. Most everyone here is pretty friendly so I'm sure you'll feel right at home here See ya 'round!

      Sweet Lucid Dreams

      Welcome Jonathan!!!!

Nice to see another lurker finally join in on the discussions. At least we know you are serious about the whole thing and you're not just another post and run

Anyway, now that you are here, make yourself at home

Thanks for the welcomes. Hopefully it won't be long until I have another LD, but for now I'm going to concentrate on recall. If I have some time tonight I'll start my dream journal. In addition to recording daily dreams I think I'll write down some past dreams as I remember them. Last night I drempt somebody stole my Jeep, which was definitely not pleasant.

      Hey there!

I was the one who pmed you and such, asking why your name is jwreding. Well, there is usually a story behind those types of names so i always ask.

Welcome, anyway! Dreaming is a fascinating subject, and when you get lucid dreaming it is very fun. So unique is lucid dreaming that i oftenw onder why it isnt as big yet. it does after all advertise 'do anything you want. anything!' which nothing else can really say.

Anyway, i ramble. questions can be posted or pmed, good luck in your LDing!

Welcome to the posting side of the forums. Making the change was okay, was't it?

So whats the story with the name anyway?

Damascus has got me all curious now.
