      Which is best?

I've been improving my dream recall and I think I'm ready to start lucid dreaming. I'm not sure which method to choose, which do you think is easiest to start with?

      Thanks in advance.

      Welcome to Dreamviews!

I can't say which method is best, since different things work for different people. You may have to try a few things and see what works best for you. Also, think about your sleep schedule and think realistically about how much time you have during the day to do things like reality checks or time before bed for a MILD or time to wake up in the middle of the night to try WILD.

I can recommend that you try MILD first, though. Personally I believe that it is the easiest thing to try for beginners. If you want, you can do some reality checks during the day on top of the MILD to give yourself a better chance at a lucid dream.

I haven't the time to WILD (plus the SP is too strange), so I MILD. I'll use a present-tense mantra before drifting off to sleep (I AM dreaming in my case), and I try to go through the day with a heightened sense of awareness, which is a great RC, too. If I have the time, I will also autosuggest to myself (again using the same mantra). I haven't been motivated as of late, but I'm going to get back on top of the game.

Best of luck, sukritact! Remember, try a method for about a week before switching. A method might not work right away and will require some practice, so don't give up on something right away. It took three weeks before I had my first LD (though some have had one on the first night after learning of LDs), so just keep at it and don't give up! Note your progress and enjoy the ride.
