Goodnight from a Newbie

Its 10:58 in Eugene Oregon and I am off for some sleep.

I want to first say Hello to everyone that may ever read this.

I will hopefully be using this site as a motivating tool to help
myself in the wonderous dream world I am starting to learn about.

I will continue to improve my dream recall, and my goal tonight
is merely to record 3 dreams (regular, not lucid) in my dream journal.
I am almost ready to analyze for my dream signs and symbols to
start on lucidity.

To everyone affliated with this site, I want to say Thank You
for providing such a great service for all of us here.

Don't get discouraged if you don't start having LD's within the first weeks of trying. For most it takes several weeks to months to start having LD's.

You are starting off very well, working on dream recall and started a dream journal. That is the first huge step towards lucidity. Next, I would suggest browsing through the tutorials and find a technique for lucid dreaming that you think would fit you. Practice that technique for a while, and if it doesn't work out to well, try a different one.

Hey Big Dreams, thanks for your support.
I had a great day although I worked almost 12 hours.

I think like anything peole are excited for, hard days
are made easier by the enjoyment that lies ahead,
and for me that is sleeping (yet I will hopefully never
be charge with sleeping my life away!)

I hope this initial enjoymeny doesnt wear off and the outcomes
far outweighs in cost to all this work. For a newbie, reality checks,
dream journals, waking up in the middel of the night . . ., requires
some effort; well worth it I bet.

What do you think about that???

Overall, thank you to everyone who showed me support.

Although I think I remember having 3 dreams last night, I was only
able to write down 2 in my DJ: sometimes I am just so
groggy I cant pull my self up. Nonetheless, I think I am
getting better as my dream recall has vastly improved.

So my goal stays the same until I achieve it.

3 dreams tonight in my dream journal, no focus on lucidity.

I find it interesting how my mind works, that although I
awaken in the middle of the night and spend a few minutes
writing down my dreams, some of them I completely forget.

For example every night before I sleep, I read the previous nights
dreams aloud to my girlfriend, and even halfway through I am
saying "I cant believe I do not remember this", but always I arrive
at a part that triggers my memory and it starts coming back.

Its 9:39 and in a few minutes I am off to bed, hope by 10:00.

Hi MC I agree with you I actually look forward to sleep now where as before it was just sleep

I had some weird dreams last night I saw one of my dream signs but missed reminding myself i was dreaming :embarrassed:

the only way it seems to achieve this is by reality checking frequently during the day so today every hour thats what i am going to do and then hopefully this will flow through to dreams then its lucid when you become aware you are dreaming.

so go for it MC its really good that we are enthusiastic about this too

i am off work at the moment had a bit of a break down so sleeping is good for me
