Why am I so scared =(

      Well I'm 16.

I live in quite a large house, and here I am in my room all alone at 00:20 and even now if I hear a slight sound I'd get up and check, im always like this.

I've had sleep paralysis before multiple times and its freaked me out.

When I'm going to bed, and im saying "i will remember to recognise I am dreaming'", even if I hear that slight noise I look quickly, and I really want to lucid dream so bad, but im incredibly scared

Like Ill end up outside in the night sky, and it'll seem like 100% real and I'd be scared, and see something in this tht'll frighten me even more

Maybe it's just your personality type?

If you're afraid of sleep paralysis, you can try concentrating on the fact that it's a perfectly natural function of your body. That always helps me. After all, your body isn't trying to kill you.

SP is too weird a sensation for me, personally, so I stick to the MILD method mostly. It's all about finding the technique that's right for you. If one isn't working after a while, you may want to consider switching. If you want to keep with something, though, you should still obtain results. Once you get some decent results with a method, though, I recommend you stick with that one predominantly.

Maybe you should stick to DILDs and MILDs untill you get more comfortable with the whole thing. Or just keep at it, And you should eventually beat your fear.

And one post mario, Where's it gunna be?

I don't like silence much either. I have a small fan in my room that is on, so it creates white noise

Buy a fan, or a white noise machine, or a radio and keep the volume low

Same here....same age and I sleep in my room alone at the other end of the house than my family. If I hear sounds I have to check what they are.

Alot of my dreams are nightmares, so when I wake up in the middle of the night shaking with fear, I get freaked out when I hear sounds. My firsts 'intensional' lucid dream was a few days ago....I repeated that I would remember my dreams and realize I was dreaming. When falling asleep I was thinking about a nightmare...and I had that nightmare 5 times(that I remember) that night, with one good dream in-between. The nightmare was really short, probably only 5-10 seconds....I was laying in bed, and since you don't remember falling asleep, I thought I was still awake when it happened. I was laying in bed when I heard a thick alarm sound going off in my head and a noise coming from my closet...I looked over and my closet doors started creaking open slowly...I then became lucid and woke myself up...I didn't have time to realize I wasn't in danger so I woke myself up. Might not sound that freaky. I've had scarier ones(with wild animals in the woods, elevators, trains, etc.). But in the dream it was so freaky. I was paralysed in the dream and was shaking, even when I woke up and didn't want to go back to bed...so I read for awhile.

So I would say that's my first intentional lucid dream, since I repeated over and over that night I would have a lucid dream. I've been wanting to try a WILD.but getting up in the middle of the night and become SP(never have been SP while awake)..with those hallucinations...I would probably have freaky ones and open my eyes, cause I would be thinking I would have bad ones. So I haven't tried yet. And maybe I should get a fan to cover up little noises.
