Welcome to Dreamviews! It sounds to me like your alarm is working fine, but you just need a bit more discipline in writing your dreams down before returning to sleep, lol. I understand though, lol, I have forgotten many a lucid because I was too tired (lazy ) to write it down after my alarm went off. Drinking alot of water does work and it could help solve the problem. After all, if you don't get up to use the restroom, you will definately regret it in the morning . Well, good luck to you!

My advice? Take your alarm clock (or phone or whatever wakes you up) and put it all the way across the room. Then put your dream journal next to it. That way, when the alarm goes off, you will be forced to actually get up out of bed.

As much as you seem fit. Of course the more the better, but always use your own judgement.

Its usually best to write down as much as you can possibly remember. It can help build your memory and recall. Plus, what you don't write down you are more likely to forget. But like Kangaxx said, its a judgement call. If you are able to remember the entire dream from only writing a few lines, then you will be fine. I personally write down everything I can remember because my memory is pretty shoddy. You can browse through some of the dream journals here on dream views and get an idea of how much people write down in general. here's a good idea.
Another thing you can do which is easier is to just jot down key words about your dream. Keep a pen and paper by your bed. Lets say you had a dream that you were driving in a park with your friend. You can just write down (car, friend's name, park) and other major points. Then when you wake up by reading these few words you should recall most of your dream to write down in complete.

yea thats good thanks, i think the main thing i have to work on is my discipline, making sure i write things down. I wake up and i think i don't need to write it down because its so vivid at the time. but then when i wake up properly i can't remember anything. i brought a note pad today so i'm gunna keep it under my pilow.

I've never really experienced dreaming atall, i guess ive always been a heavy sleeper or maybee just week, The strangest part is having control over what happens i don't mean in a big way not anything like alot of you, just enough to influence the course of my dreams or stop bad things from happening.

I've been reading some DJ's on here and theyre blowing my mind. i would be happy doing half the stuff some of you guys can do.

from now on i'm going to focus alot more time on getting good at this
