      1st Lucid dreaming, maybe

Hi to start off sorry if this is in the wrong section.

I believe I had my first lucid dream but not quite sure maybe someone can make senes of it:

I don't remember the dream before a certain part but i'll try my best to.

Its where I'm standing on top of a hill its day time looking down there snow alot of snow I do something kinda like in an RPG video game and a town appears so I go towards the town which is covered in snow.

I'm going to each home (they look like hobbit holes from LOTR) but eerything is covered in snow I come across a cottage I look in but see no one. I see another house on the property and there is someone inside.

I go inside and Its one of my grandfathers,

Now this is where I think its becoming a lucid dream

He's talking to me, about what I don't remember at some point I think in my head in the dream this must be a dream I don't know what sparked it but I'm debating in my head about asking him is this a dream or what happened to the town.

Instead I tell him this is a dream but he keeps talking I start looking around I can hear myself talk almost like I was talking outside the dream and I can see myself blink.

Suddenly he attacks me, doesn't even look like my grandfather anymore kinda looks insane and I slash him with a dagger (where I got it I don't know but if it is like an RPG I probably always had one) it was fast like I knew it was coming and he just vanished into dust.

here I being to worry that something it trying to stop me I start to say end this dream over and over but in my mind I was thinking this was the way to switch areas or scenrios. I slowly wake up.

I hope what I tried to expline makes senes.
      Thank you for reading.

the question is- did you know for sure it was a dream or were you just telling yourself that? It's definitely an accomplishment, however you will trully shine once you realise it's just a dream and realise nothing can harm you and everything is yours to command.

Ah, yeah, that definitely sounds like a first LD. Aware of the dream, but confused and scared. Next time you won't be scared, so try to control it and enjoy it. In the meantime, you'll read this threads about lucidity, and you'll get super excited, so your next LD could be super short That was my scenario.
Come on! What if Martin Luther King said: "I kinda have a dream... nah, I don't wanna talk about it."

Sounds to me like you had a lucid dream. A really good way to check to see if you are dreaming is by doing something called a Reality Check such as plugging your nose and trying to breathe through it or examining your hands. Chances are that if you look at your hands and you have 6 fingers on each hand, you are dreaming.

The method in which you became lucid is called a Dream Induced Lucid Dream or DILD for short.

Next time you think you might be dreaming, do a reality check. This way you can KNOW if you are dreaming or not, and not just have a suspicion.

If you have any questions regarding DILD or Dream Control, just PM me and i will help the best i can.

Another thing you will need to have is a Dream Journal. Every time you wake up, try to run through any dreams you might remember, then write them down. You will usually want to do a Reality Check RIGHT after you wake up(i once wrote down my entire dream after dreaming of waking up, i woke up and had to write it down all over again). Dreaming that you wake up is called a False Awakening or FA for short.

Even if you wake up thinking "Oh i dont need to write this down, i remember enough of it.", chances are you wont remember it later. So ALWAYS WRITE DOWN YOUR DREAMS.

So once again, if you have any questions, feel free to PM me.

I hope you have fun on DreamViews and stay awhile!
