I've been trying to lucid dream for close to a year now. Its been widely unsuccessful; indeed, the closest I came to achieving lucidity was the first night I found out about Lucid Dreaming, as is probably normal.
It is true that I've been slacking off on the dream journals and the constant reinforcement. But I have a new initiative.
I've tried the whole DILD thing for about a year now because its the 'easiest' to do. It requires the least work, at least, outside of sleeping. But I'm working on a new method.
I've started visualizing a 'gateway' to my lucid dreams. I hope to use this technique in conjunction with WILDing. Basically, I've created a very detailed scene in my head. I won't bore you with the details, but it is simply a large crystal arch that looks out onto my dreamscape; an open expanse of hills and grassland...etc.
My hopes are that if I continually visualize this place during my waking life and think of lucid dreaming, I will think of it in my dreams and link it to lucid dreaming. I can also try to picture it when WILDing.
Does it sound promising?
