Hey everybody, my name is Julia and I'm 15. I came across this site when I was looking to see if it was possible to control my dreams, and I found much more than what I was asking for. |

Welcome julia! No, taking a long time to fall asleep should not affect lucid dreaming because you still dream. In a way it might actually help lucid dreaming because it gives you a longer time to think about it before you fall asleep. Those "dreams" of yours are probably just hypnagogic imagery and is completely normal. If you can have see the hypnagogic imagery after awakening from a dream in the middle of the night you could probably wild very easily. I think you should give that a try |

I'm much like Julia and Gemetria. It often takes me 30 minutes to an hour and a half to fall asleep. I also constantly think. It's one of my few quiet times. However, I'm a natural Ld'er. I'm not sure if it's because of this that I have problems WILD'ing. If you find this is a case, work on dream recall, reality checking, and auto-suggestion. Most of my lucids are simple DILD's. I kind of like these because they're a nice little surprise. Then DEILD. It's a form of WILD, but you do it instantaneously after waking up. It's possible to chain 3 or 4 of these in a row. And then, (when I was still in the habit of doing an RC after I woke up) I would catch probably one FA every couple of days to a week. |

Thanks everybody! |
