      Damn it...Hey

      Hey everybody.

Just thought I'd say hi, now to the "damn part",

First off, I've been researching Lucid Dreaming for a while but haven't had one. I can remember 2 to 3 dreams a night.

Right so, last night, I was a sleep then I woke up I recalled my dreams, one dream that I had was very strange. I remembered that I had looked at my hands and I saw a huge blue line going from the tip of my middle finger to my wrist.

I think, because I was asking myself all day if I was dreaming and kept looking at my hands because the research I done said if you do that then it will carry over to my dream.

Is not supposed to tell yourself in your mind that you are dreaming? because I only relisied this when I woke.

All I can say is don't feel bad if you aren't having dreams. I didn't have my first LD until about two weeks into the research and game. Your first few may be very brief, but it'll come along. Do lots of reality checks through the day and really question if you're dreaming or not. Don't quickly dismiss it as it quickly saying you aren't dreaming may carry over into your dreams and then you won't be able to attain lucidity. It may take some time to respond to your dreams signs. Don't give up. I'm not. I've had two in the last three weeks. I'm sure more is to come.

The idea is that you'll associate looking at your hands with the question "am I dreaming?" Then you'll notice that your hands look weird, and realize that you're dreaming. Usually you suspect that you're dreaming first, then use your hands as a RC. Note that there are also several other RCs. It's good to use a variety.

Remember that when you do reality checks, it's not just to look at your hands and go "oh they're fine, time to go do whatever". EVERY time that you reality check, try to stop and look around and just ask yourself, "What am I doing? Does it make sense that I'm here, with these people, doing it? Am I dreaming?" and really try to pay attention to what's going on. If you don't ask these questions, you'll miss most of your reality checks by just looking at a hand and then moving on, instead of asking what's going on and then realizing you might be dreaming and then verifying it with a reality check.

It helps to be tired when you try to WILD (so you don't stay awake forever), but you don't want to be so tired that you just fall asleep instantly. Like most things when it comes to LDing, it depends on the person.

Edit: Just as a general note, it's better to work up your dream recall and have a few DILDs before trying to WILD. Also make sure you read the tutorials so that you know what to expect.

      Hey another question, well two

If you listen to a Lucid Dream mp3 file, when the person says do a reality check, do you actually do, seems like a stupid question but can anybody help.

Another one, are there any foods that help.
