New, had never heard of Lucid Dreams

While reading the blog of a missing woman in KY I came across Lucid Dreaming. I did a Google search to find out what Lucid Dreaming is, and found this site and read about lucid dreaming only to find out I have been having Lucid dreams since I was a child. I have not talked about my experiences with many people because most people look at me like I am crazy. I think I had better control over my dreams as a child, I can remember making myself fly in my dreams over and over. I was physically abused by my mother and most of the time I dreamed of flying away from her when she was in one of her rages. I do have a question though, I have found the only time I am able to continue the dream once I am aware that I am dreaming, is when it's a bad dream, is there a reason for this? I have not tried to change what I am dreaming and while it may seem odd, I don't even mind the bad dreams...I guess because I am aware that it is just a dream. I have also found that I remember the dreams with more detail when I am pregnant ( I assumed this was due to the fact that I wake up more often while pregnant).

Hey. That's cool you have been lding all of your life, a lot of people say they do.
I am not quite sure about your situation, but maybe you have just let yourself think you can only continue your lucid if it is a nightmare. Your situation is definately defeatable. It is all in your mind and you make up the rules of your lucids. I would forget everything you know about how your lucid dreaming works and start anew. The pregnant thing is definately because you wake up more and when you wake up right after a dream, you remember more of it. I hope this somewhat helped.

I don't really have any answers to your questions except for the last one. If for any reason you wake up in the night, you are more inclined to find WBTB lucid dreaming accessable. In other words, many people, even intentionally, will wake up in the night and go back to sleep because they find it easier to induce an LD this way. I do it when I'm sleeping in.
