      Possible Wake Induced Dream...

So, I saw this site on google last week, read about lucidity and lucid dreaming and it really intrigued me. So, last night I tried to have a WILD. It was a really strange experience, it took me about a half hour and then my head started spinning and my heart started racing, I don't know if I got too excited or what but then my eyes just opened and I was awake. And yes, I did do a reality check for those of you who wanted to know! Anyways, My possible Wake Induced Dream was this as I wrote it down in my new DJ.

      "11-17-08
I was talking to a lady(maybe some kind of counselor) about how the cheerleading posters that were up should say that the tryouts were open for everyone. I was really mad. Then I started tearing them down and ripping/crumpling them up. Then my principal and an assistant principle came and nominated me for student of the month. (Possibly because I was thinking of others at the school, I don't know) Then they asked what I wanted done and showed me 4 examples of posters. I told them what I liked then said they could pick whatever was best. They started talking and then the principal turned into the school chior teacher. Then I was on my way to class(which I was now late for) when one of my fellow Jr. Officers stopped me and got angry at me for being late. Pretty soon all of the girl Jr. OFfiers were there and they al got angry at me. Then I had to eplain what happened. Then I started sweeping up some ice and one of them asked what I was going to do with it. I swept it under an Ice machine like I do at work. I think just to spite her. Then she said she had seen the last episode of Dragon Ball Z and then my dream turned into that. But now watching it on tv, but, like I was actually there."

My main question is could this dream have been wake induced? Other thoughts on this dream would be appreciated too.

I never actually thought in the dream to myself that it must be a dream. Although, when sweeping the ice I faintly remember thinking to myself why is the ice machine from my work at my school and why is a previously (horrid spelling) carpeted hallway tiled. But, I didn't do a reality check. And when I woke up, I thought to myself, Man I haven't remembered a dream in like a week when this came to me and I wrote it down. And yes, it is entertaining to look back over and remember what happened.

I don't know this certainly does not even sound like a lucid dream, let alone a WILD...

You're right shift, it wasn't a lucid dream. But, could I have induced it by intending to have a dream as I fell asleep?

It could have been wake induced, however I'd be curious to see how long you slept. As Gerjzla stated, you may have just fallen asleep during your first wild attempt and entered a normal REM stage.

One can induce a normal dream, and you may have, but most non-lucids are in the REM stage which occurs hours into the sleeping process.

Oh, and welcome by the way! If you want any advice on the other dream types or a good explanation of WILDing, I'd be happy to help and point you towards some tutorials written on the subject as well as give my understanding.

      See you around the forums.

I think you guys are right about the falling asleep thing. I did wake up at 6:00 when my alarm went off, so I think it was probably just a regular old dream.

And thanks for the welcome spock!
