Dream directing question
Hello,
I'm new here I have only achieved lucidity maybe 3 times in my life and never to the degree a lot of y'all can do it. But I really want to learn this. After finding this site I started journaling and my recall is improving. I just had a false awakening. Cool. I'm trying to get the point of looking for dream signs hopefully it's around the corner.
My question is has anyone been able to program what they want to dream about? I keep trying this as a test: Jennifer Love Hewitt is a fave celeb of mine and she sings so I keep trying to end up at her home and jamming with her on acoustic guitars I try to start it consciously (and I usually lose controll of that--but that's another story ;) ) but it never works, never have been able to dream about her. :( Has anyone been able to do something like that? Pick something specific and dream about it?
Edit:
Thinking about my post I guess it's kind of silly question this is a lucid dream site and this is like a simple monthly task for some of y'all but what I'm asking is for any tips on how I can achieve this dream? When you realize you are lucid do you usually take control of what's presented or can you switch it to another senario altogether

I would say try to do simpler things first, manifest a water bottle in your hands, something easy. Once your control improves then you can try doing something difficult, but it will take practice, or not, depending on how good you get how fast: good luck and welcome to the forums.

Yes, it's called dream incubation. Unfortunately, the tutorial isn't up yet, but the dream guide staff is working on it. Until then, check out the other tutorials to help you get lucid and more control over your dreams.
:welcome: to DV

Welcome to the board. I would definitely try something more simple and less complex to think of, as this may help you prevent yourself from getting too excited and waking up.

Honestly, it's very difficult. I've heard it's possible, but I've never been able to "dream incubate." I have better luck if I find myself in a lucid dream to try to get the person there in that context. But it's still very difficult. It's much easier for me to create other things. People I want in the dream are the hardest. Frustrating though, because that's the one thing I want to be able to do.
The best way for me to have favorite celebrity dreams is to get up in the middle of the night, watch them on TV for an hour or two, then go back to bed. I've dreamed of my favorites that way a lot. But I never did it intentionally, meaning I never planned to try to dream of them. But when I get up in the middle of the night to watch a sporting event that's happening in Spain, for example, and I go back to bed, I just often happen to dream of the person I was watching.
