So do i create the dream or let it come to me?

So i'm pretty new to LDing, just bought my first how to book (Lucid Dreaming by Stephen laberge great book btw). anyway i decided that contrary to what most ppl say im going to try WILDing. w/o sleeping and then waking. simply lay in bed do the lotus flower and flame meditation to keep my mind awake and alow my body to fall under. Cool i'm good that far and i'm confident in this method for myself. My question however, once i enter SP do i simply let the dreams come to me and slowly appear right b4 my eyes, or once SP kicks in do i start the dream on my own? BTW this is my first post ever.. on any forum..and this is going to get very addicting

      Chan.

Stephen Laberge's books are awesome. Good call starting with him. It sounds like you already understand that WILD at the beginning of the night is very difficult, almost impossible. Of course, it is worth a try, but don't get discouraged if your attempts don't go according to plan. Maybe try it at both the beginning of the night, and after a WBTB. Find out for yourself the differences.

It is very difficult to describe the transition to a dream. You can get anything from hallucinations to body distortions to feelings of movement or motion. You can either try to imagine a scenario to enter, or just grab onto one of the mini hallucinations that pop into your mind.

Keep us posted on how your attempts go.

You can do either. If you create your own dream that is called a V-WILD (visualization WILD) and if you let the dream come that's a traditional WILD. Letting it come is a lot easier, very few people can construct their own dreams, especially the first times.

More than likely you will start with a false awakening.
