Newbie with dreams that later occur

Hi my name is David and I am a 21 yr old student from Los Angeles, CA. I became interested in lucid dreaming after reading about it in another forum and one link led to another and I eventually got here and I have been reading every night since.

The first thing I would like to talk about is dreams that later actually occur in the future. As I can recall, this has happened since I was maybe 12 or 13 years old in middle school. Every now and then I would have a dream of something random, like for instance, eating at a random restaurant that I did not recognize then fast foward a couple months later, my girlfriend surprises me and takes me to a Chipotle Burrito place in Pasadena that I have never ever been to and it is exactly the same setting as it was in the dream and everything that happened in that dream happens that day as well. I have had at least one of these a year that I can vividly recall and I was wondering if anyone knows why this happens or anywhere I can read more on dreams like that.

I would say, just enjoy it....
I do not know the answers, but I do understand the feeling. It sometimes happens to me...
These dreams... doesn't it make you feel somehow special...?
      all the best.

      Hi Dab!
      Welcome to the forums.
In answer to your question, I'm not sure about how that works. My mother is the same way and has predicted major and minor events before they have happened so she may know more about it. I'll ask her. At any rate, some people in the Beyond Dreaming area may know more about this topic.
      Good luck.

That only happened to me once when I was about 8..and I never forgot it. It was back when I liked Wrestling and I had a subscription to WWF Magazine and I dreamt I went to the super market and saw the new issue with Bret Hart on the cover. Needless to say, when the new issue came out Bret Hart was on the cover. Just luck I suppose.

Nab, I'm new here, too. But, I've always had dreams like that. It's always really insignificant stuff, a few months in advance, but I always remember them and they always seem very accurate and details. I've always kept a dream journal, so I can look back and read them when stuff like that does happen. I have no explanation for it. And I've often wondered why I don't dream about important stuff!

I've also had the experience of dreams like this. For me they are usually minor stuff, but occasionally it is something that is important. I just think that there is more to the mind and to the world than many people believe.

Thanks for the welcomes with open arms. This forum is amazing because of helpful and kind people like you.

Anyways, sometimes when I get lucid dream, I get really nervous and wake up because sometimes I fear that if I see a death or have a nightmare that it will actually become reality, which has also made me stay away from a lot of scary movies in fear that they will show up in my dreams.

I've had experiences with two of those types of dreams, on two consecutive days. I'm not going to go into detail (it's your thread!) but if anyone is interested in hearing them, feel free to PM me. I didn't predict anything major, I'd just rather not hijack the thread.
