Wierd twitch??

Okay so every once and awhile ill be falling asleep in my bed half awake half asleep, then out of nowhere my body has a freak out that lasts 1/100th of a second and scared the living crap out of me then im wide awake... what is this and do u guys get it too???

Dont worry its normal. Its something to do with you loosing conciousness and breifly using your real body to act out your thoughts. Its a hypnic jerk, or something.

I believe DIzko is correct. Nothing to worry about. I enjoy them when I rarely get them! Feels like someone throws your bed up 90degrees and you slide off.

Yeah I've had those many times, before my time of pursuing lucid dreams though. When im about to fall asleep sometimes my brain conjures up the idea that im falling. It feels extremely realistic, like im realy moving and my body reacts to catch the fall. I think this happens more often when ur trying to stay concious as long as possible before u fall asleep.

that always happens to me but frankly... i have no idea what it means if anyone could shed some light on the subject, please, share

I really hate it when that happens. I too have done that, once I start to drift asleep I have been startled awake by a falling dream or getting hit by something in my dream. But then other times it's because I stop breathing or something and my body jerks itself awake to get me to breathe. That doesn't happen too often. Usually if I'm laying weird or my allergies are acting up.

This same thing happend to me last night while i tryed to stay concious as log as possible. Firs i was having ths so calld hypo-things before your eyes in darkness, then suddenly it felt like something sucked me with a speed of light in my bed.. i was like yey! because i have been reading about this in this forums... But then suddenly my heart rate bumpt up to like 100h/min and that scared shit out of me, so i tryed to open my eyes and i couldnt... again it freak´d me out... but after that i started to flow like in spase or darkness... and i remember that i tryed to do a reality test by checkin my clock on my right wrist(i never wear a clock :) ) but then i pasted out :(
