'ello,

I'm somewhat new to the idea of lucid dreaming. I've always been aware of the concept and can vaguely recall a bizarre dream as a child that I could partially control my own actions in consciously. I'd never thought to look into it untill recently. I'm quite experienced with meditation (I teach on a no-fee basis in my spare time) and most of my meditative work relies heavily on imagery, so the thought of lucid dreaming intriques me - I'm quite used to working with elements of my subconscious in meditation and I imagine that lucid dreaming will allow me to understand it better.

I've all ready begun to gently ease myself into the practice of performing reality checks in daily life. I know the recommended amount is about 10 a day, but I'm building myself up gradually (I have a horrific waking memory, as my partner kindly reminds me on special occassions ). I tend to be pretty good at remembering my dreams in some detail, but hope to soon start a dream journal. I'm browsing through the various materials on the site when I can - I admit that I suffer from heavy insomnia, but over the years I've developed my own relaxation techniques based off/around meditation that give me a generally higher quality of sleep even with insomnia.

So...can't think of anything else to say but hello once again.
