Just last week I heard of Lucid Dreams. Kept a dream journal and everything. But haven't had one yet. Dreams are just so weird and its hard to realize you are in a dream. How did you start lucid dreaming and how often?

Welcome to DV! :)
If you haven't already, you should start out with reading the quick start tutorial: http://www.dreamviews.com/community/...ead.php?t=1518
I'm not the best one to answer your question because I never learned how to have lucid dreams.
You have only tried for about a week, so don't feel discouraged. :) It takes longer than that for many aspiring lucid dreamers, but it's impossible to tell how long it will take for you to start having lucid dreams. Good luck on your progress, nevertheless! :)
Well I'll be able to help you with starting off :P, what I did to start having lucid dreams is whenever something strange happens (or if you come across a dream sign), do a few reality checks, it might also be able to observe your surroundings if the reality checks failed and your still suspicious of your "reality", sometimes you may come across another thing that just isn't quite right.;)
Also to answer your other question I have had a dream journal for 2 months but only really attempted lucid dreaming 45ish days ago, and I get a LD about once every 7-10days:D
Well, good luck with future lucid dreaming attempts :D
It sometimes take a month or two to have your first lucid dream, but if you keep at it, it will be worth it. Read the homepage at DV and the tutorials on DILDs and reality checks. I did it the first day, but that's rare.
