Smile How bad is the Alarm Clock?

      Hi,
I've LDed once, but then my classes started and I had to stop doing it. Now I'm willing to be in LD again but I believe I have a major problem, the evil Alarm Clock . I is pretty much necessary for me to use it as If I don't I'll probably wake up midday of some late time like that . The bright side is that I always wake up at 8am, so I have plenty of sleep . Soo, is it really bad to wake up with a jump? Will it be a big problem to a begginer?

      Thank you!

Personally, I've never had an issue waking up to alarm clocks. In fact, many people use an alarm clock set at 90 minute intervals to wake them up in the middle of dreams to help train for dream recall.

At most, you'll probably be in the middle of a dream and be disappointed that you woke up. On the other hand, you'll also probably remember it better. Its all in perspective.

I have an internal alarm clock. By that I mean, I can say to myself: "Wake up at x time", and usually, within 5 or 10 minutes, I almost always wake up at the time I said. That takes alot of practice though.

As for waking up to a real alarm clock, those have never really worked for me. It can be set all the way up, right next to me, and I'll sleep right through it. When I do wake up to it though, it usually isn't anything jolting, it just feels like I'm waking up normally.

The most i can say is, I think many people are different, and so you'll just have to try it a few times, and see what happens.

i think that alarm cloks are fine unless you are having a LD and it wakes you up...not a good experience...trust me. oh and this is my hundredth post!

alarm clock is fine for waking up for WBTBs. Its easy, and takes no adjustment (ie. you dont have to learn to wake up at time x).

And classes shouldnt stop you having healthy sleeping patterns
