Lucid Dreaming in the afternoon?

Hello, everyone. I´m someone who daydreams a lot. This afternoon I laid in bed and just kept relaxing and daydreaming. I eventually fell asleep and woke about an 1h30min afterward.

I remembered some weird dreams but first I thought it was just that I was daydreaming, but slowly, I saw it was a dream (actually 2). In one of the dreams, I had a girlfriend and somehow I ended up questioning myself and thought: "I don´t remember talking on the phone or seeing this girl for a long time, how can she be my girlfriend?". But after I forgot about it.

And had another dream after that. I didn´t wake up, it was two separate dreams ( different place, people etc.) - in the same "sleep window". And I didn´t question reality in the second one. Was that a beginning of lucidity as in I started to question the reality of the dream or was it just a weird dream?

Secondly, is it possible (or common) to have lucid dreams in the afternoon (nap), when you´ve been sleeping for so little time?

      Thanks in advance.

PS - I have to say, doing the dream journal for just 5 days and I´m really starting to remember more dreams. I have still have long way to go, but I´m beginning to see the effect.

Actually, I joined a few days ago and had created already two different threads. I just don´t post a lot. Thanks for the answer though. Do you think that when I questioned the reality of the dream it was the beginning of lucidity?

Sorry Didn't notice, knowing my luck though I posted in the other threads

Well you started to question things which is always a start. Perhaps if you continued on from then you could have had lucidity!

yeah, but im curious. Did you not further your questioning in that dream?

You should think about "reality checks" a lot of you want to remember them when you have a dream. Do you know what those are yet?

In my short lucid today I did a reality check where I held my hand over my mouth and plugged my nose, but I could still breathe, so I knew it was a dream.

Sometimes I just know, but sometimes reality checks let me know for sure if I am not sure. But also be careful of some of the reality checks, for some people certain ones dont work, like the one I said, sometimes people feel like they cant breathe through it, so they figure its real.

I´m a very absent minded sometimes, so for me to remember to do reality checks is very hard. However, i´m always using a watch (digital) and i look at it several times a day. I´m thinking it could be my way of doing a reality check. Would that work?

PS - In response to your question: I didnt continue to question. However through the whole dream, I felt akward around her because i wasn´t sure she was my gf(later in the dream i found out that unlike what i had thought initially, she wasn´t)

YES! digital watches are very good reality checks, it was my first that I remember! Keep saying to yourself about checking your watch, and keep asking yourself if this is a dream, and then look at your watch to make sure, even in reality. You will get used to it, so when you are dreaming you are more likely to do it.

Also, try to get it in your mind that if you are questioning it, you should at least do a reality check, and the digital watch is perfect.

I hope you get a lucid dream soon!

yeah I think it was the beginning of lucidity. Also yes, you can have lucid dreams during an afternoon nap, I had a short one today actually! A lot of people seem to have them actually, and that was my first afternoon nap in a while and I had one. I think its sort of like a WBTB.
