      new member - hello!

      hi all,

just registered after browsing a bunch of posts yesterday about Bradley Thompson's mystery kit. seems like a nice place so i thought i'd join.

time for a good lurk methinks, i'm looking for ways to start lucid dreaming that don't involve too much that would disturb my partner who finds it hard to get back to sleep once woken up - something i don't suffer from, i can wake up, go downstairs, get a drink for my daughter, come back to bed and be asleep in minutes & it's usually at these times that i have my best dream recall.

any suggestions would be welcome, as i said, i'm gonna go lurk around and browse the archives and see what i can turn up for myself.

      sweet dreams!

      Welcome to Dreamviews!
You should probably start on the main page and read all of those articles. then go on to read "Attaining Lucidity" if you want to read about the different methods of lucid dream induction. You might need to look at the acronym list to understand what all of the abbreviations are.

DILD(Dream Indicated Lucid Dream) might be your best bet because you go to sleep normally but you regain consciousness in the dream. It requires the least amount of work I would say.

dild is my main focus, my key dreamsigns are locations, particularly the sea or places from my childhood that are now a couple of hundred miles away and floating, often triggered by strong winds.

fild sounds interesting, i read about it yesterday and am going to work on this one.

what the heck is deild? can't find it in the acronym list or the tutorials list. is this some kinda noob hazing or am i just looking in the wrong places?

If you already regularly get up during the night then you should try to WILD when you return to your bed.

Some of us move to another room when we plan to lucid dream. I think Clairity said that she goes and sleeps on the couch for WILDing so she doesn't disturb her husband.

But, unless you WILD, or WBTB then you don't need to get up. Just doing reality checks and recognizing dream signs are called DILDs and you don't have to wake up to have them
