      2 LD experiences i've had

firstly let me say when i was just a little boy and my friends used to say "isn't it funny when you're dreaming and you know you are!", i always used to say they were lying and it's impossible! how wrong i was!!!!!

when i first heard of lucid dreaming i was interested in it and obviously thought it would be cool to do it but never bothered doing practices, although i did consider it.

not too long ago i had my first experience with lucid dreaming, although it didnt go as i would've liked.
during a dream i became aware that i was dreaming but i woke up. afterwards i remember lying on the living room floor trying to go to sleep so i could start lucid dreaming again- but then i woke up!!!!!

my alarm clock is always set for about 7 in the morning, but being a student, i usually get up about 5 hours later.

this morning i remember the awful noise of the alarm clock slowly entering my awareness, so i stopped it and went back to bed.

i dreamt that i was walking down the road and i seen a dog as big as a lion in front of me chewing a basketball. its owner wasnt with it so i was very cautious, and stayed back instead of walking past it.

someone on a bike cycled past and the dog started chasing him. then it turned on me. it bit me on the arm, but it didn't hurt, it was like a "play" bite (if you have a dog you'll know what i mean).

that's when i became aware i was dreaming.

the dog let go and was standing in front of me waiting for me to chase him (just as my dog does when he's playing). as he waited, i was thinking about the dream. i could feel my weight on the soles of my feet, the light breeze blowing past, and could smell the dog's breath. this convinced me that i was dreaming and not simply "imagining". i also contemplated what possible meaning the dream could have, as everything seemed symbolic, i.e. huge dog chewing basketball blocking my path (i play a lot of bball).

i dont know whether it was the dog's bite or the realisation of the symbolic nature of the events that made me think i might be dreaming however.

then i started to wonder what i should do to the dog as it stood in front of me. i was about to give it one big superman punch to the face when it ran away. i chased it for a while, but then became disinterested because i decided to walk to a shop nearby (the dream took place in a familiar location).

when i got to the shop (when i was outside and could see it) people appeared, going about their life. they appeared in the same way people tend to do on grand theft auto games.

as i crossed the road i became aware of a strange sound i was making, which i then realised was me snoring. i then woke up, feeling kinda annoyed because i always thought i never snored.

Welcome to the forums, if you have any questions about this place, or lucid dreaming, feel free to contact me or any of the other dream guides. The only thing that caught my attention with your post is the fact that you woke up because you were snoring. Snoring in fact prohibits dreaming, and I'm fairly sure snoring begins as soon as you fall asleep, so you were probably just dreaming about snoring.

      WELCOME TO THE BOARDS!!!

Indeed you may have been dreaming that you were snoring as deathwuad said, or the fact that you started to snore was what ended your dream. Anyway, those were pretty cool experiences, and indeed something to make you work hard for more...
      If I hadn't made me
I'd be more inclined to bow
Powers that be would have swallowed me up
But that's more than I can allow...
