      noob in need of help!

So the last to nights ive been working on Dream recall and hopeing that i might be a lucky one to catch onto LDing fast. But both of these nights im having weird sleep results.

Whats happening is right when im starting to doze off i get a large twitch or small twitches that wake me right up and i have to try to start falling asleep again.

Regularly i get a lot of random muscle twitches (50+) a day but there not big just little muscle twitches.

Ive had this a few times in the past (like in a dream right when im falling asleep and like a dog bite or a gunshot will make me twitch big and awake)but with like a few years between each of them but over the past 2 nights ive gotten them several different times each time right as im dosing off.

Anyone else get this or know if this is normal ,because i dont want to have to attempt to fall asleep several different times a night!

I've had this before, a few times actually, when I was trying to WILD. I found that after the first time, if I got up and shook out my leg (which was what was twitching), the problem went away. You might want to try that before getting into bed.

It sounds like it might be what's called "hypnic jerk," which is spasms as you're falling asleep. When I get hypnic jerk, it's often in my legs and gives me a sensation of having just fallen down a step while walking around in a proto-dream state. I don't know what can be done to prevent it, or what causes it. But it is normal.

No dream goals at the moment...just flying and letting stuff happen is kinda fun, and it's hard to motivate myself to try LDing lately.
