Thread: What is this that i am experincing?

Yes i am new here, Hello everyone. Right now i have two things that happen when i try to fall asleep and i have no clue what they are and i was hoeping that 1 of you might.

1. Whenever i close my eyes when im trying to sleep i see a very detail outline of a tiger face. i have no clue why im seeing it or if it's related to sleep at all.

2. I am about to fall asleep and im very relax just lying in bed and i close my eyes and right before i enter sleep i get woken up with a jolt. whenever this happens i usually see a man with a brief case, or im getting hit with an object.

If anyone can help me with these two things and give some insight onto what they are, it would be greatly appriciated.

I don't know about the tiger, but I have had the 'jolt' awakening thing before. Though normally, I won't be hit with something, I'll be falling off a cliff or some other highland. I'm not sure why, but when I wake up from it, it'll feel like I just landed in my bed and I'll be bouncing up and down a little bit. It doesn't seem serious, so I never really think about it.

1. No idea. Probably a coincidence, if you expect to see a tiger face you probably will. Try it tomorrow and you probably won't see one. Don't worry about it.
2. I think the jolt happens to everyone. It happens occasionally for me, always different images beforehand. Again, nothing to worry about.

The jolt awake thing is common. It happens as your body falls asleep, but before sleep piralysis kicks in.

Is there anyway that i can see these things and not wake up with a jolt and just carry on with it? Or is it something that will lways make me jolt up know matter what i see.

The 'jolt' is called a 'hypnagogic jerk', and it's natural- it means that your mind was starting to enter a state of trance, but was jolted out of it.

I've never gotten tiger faces before. I often see vivid faces of people streaming one after another while I'm falling asleep. It's strange because they are faces of people I do not know, and they flash by almost too fast to see. It's like my brain turns into a random face generator during HI. Sometimes I can go from these faces into a LD if I try to engage with them.
