Yeah, I used to wonder about that too.

(Am I right in saying that your asking if it is as easy to forget a lucid dream as it is to forget a regular dream? That's what I'm answering...)

Well, yes it is. You would think that if you are conscience in your dream your memories would be "kept" more than regular dreams, but no...........................................

The goggles are a dreamsign. All they do is make some lights flash so hopefully you'll see a strong light in some form. Some things that you might see are (supposing that the lights on the nova dreamers flash on and off)...

      1. A car coming by flashing lights very very bright.
      2. You or someone else turning lights on and off.
      3. Someone shining a flashlight in your eye.

The list can go on but I don't wanna think about it anymore. The purpose of this is that in reality you should check if your dreaming every time you see bright lights or lights flickering. In the dream you see it and you think, "maybe this is the novadreamer in aciton" and you check if your dreaming and there ya go. So basically it doesn't help with recall it helps with getting you lucid and keeping you lucid (because during the dream you might see the lights again and become more lucid by remembering it's a dream).

I don't keep a dream journal or anything but I usually go over my dreams about 5 minutes after I wake up. Yeah so the goggles are just a dreamsign that you can count on.

PS: Reality checking for me is probably the technique that makes the most results (even though I don't really do it anymore). For me carrying a watch always helps...

      Yup.

So basically I wouldn't pay 200 dollars for it. Other things you can do are turn the lights on yourself and whenever you see a light do a reality check. Also, get a vibrating watch and wear it 24 hours a day (maybe not when your taking a shower though ). Make it vibrate every 30 minutes and do a reality check then. Wear it in your sleep and it works just like the nova dreamer (you might be in an earthquake or riding a bike down a bumpy hill or something).

      http://www.dynamic-living.com/vibrating_watch.htm

That site is pretty sick by the way (I wanna get a voice activated remote control there). The watch is 1/4 of the price of the novadreamer but it sounds like it would work very very well as long as you could resist waking up when the vibrator (hehe) goes off.

Wow that is a cool site. Talking watches!

For the original question. I believe the Novadreamer does not directly improve your recall. But you might have a better chance of remembering dreams when you become more aware in them.

Another idea is to download a computer program that does light flashes or sounds for you on a timer. (If you sleep by the computer)

I don't think that that's true... Awareness doesn't have anything to do with how much you remember your dreams (unless you personally remember your lucid dreams more than your regular ones).

There are 2 ways to remember (or at least make you know that you had a lucid dream) your lucid dreams more (but the problem is they are very expensive).

      1. Get something that tracks your brain waves at night and find out how lucid dream brain waves differ than regular brain waves and observe your brain waves during your REM period and you will know if you had a lucid dream and if you did than how many.

      2. Get something that tracks your REM (rapid eye movement). In your dream, do some sort of pattern with your eye movements (like move your eyes left to right 10 times) and then look at the charts in the morning and you'll see if you had one.

The third way is the cheapest, get a dream journal.

WELCOME!!!! The nova dreamer in fact will not improve your dream recall. However, when my dreams are lucid i generally tend to remember them a lot easier. The more lucid or aware I am, the more recall I will have later on. I generally at least remember that I was lucid, even if I don't remember what I did.

I don't think that the Nova Dreamer is indispensible for LDing. I suggest you try and improve your recall by writing a dream journal or using autosuggestion methods. Once you do that I suggest you try all the induction methods and find out which one works best for you...
      If I hadn't made me
I'd be more inclined to bow
Powers that be would have swallowed me up
But that's more than I can allow...
