      I have been reading posts and I keep seeing things about dream guides, can someone tell me exactly what they are

      A person in a dream that guides you through the dream world, can answer questions about your life, stuff like that. Whether you believe that they represent your subconscious, a figure from a spiritual realm, or nothing at all is up to you.

      It's sort of like a spirit guide manifesting itself into your dreams and when you are lucid, he or she or it will guide you onto the right path in life. Or something like that. It's up to you whether you believe in them or not.

      That's interesting. I've never heard about it. But I don't doubt that'd happen. How else are you suposed to drift nonsensicly from one 'scene' in your dream to the next without somone to guide you?
