If you know you are dreaming, it is a lucid dream, but you may not necessarily have control over the dream. Lucidity and control are not dependent on each other. You can be lucid and have no control. And you can have control and not be lucid. Of course the aim of this site is to achieve lucidity WITH control

You may be able to take advantage of your interrupted sleeping pattern by trying techniques such as WBTB or WILD.

That's a great idea. Pairing reality checks with common dreamsigns is quite helpful in inducing lucidity as well.
