      Thumbs up Lots of Lucid

3 WILDs and 1 DILD last night + 1 really weird thing

First came the weird thing. I was lying in bed and trying to WILD and I could feel the crazy thoughts/"hallucinations," that always occur right before I'm about to fall asleep, coming on. I heard a strange tune playing in my head, but I wasn't really hearing it, I could feel it. Too hard to explain, but it felt perfectly natural, as I was only partially conscious at this point. Then all of a sudden, I had this image of this chord being played on the piano, and it was the most beautiful chord I had ever heard, but as soon as I heard it, I was hit by something I can't explain. It didn't happen gradually, it was explosive. My entire body suddenly started "vibrating" and I couldn't move, but I had this horrible sense of foreboding, and the only thing that I could think of was "oh shit please let me wake up I have to wake up." It took me a few seconds, but I managed to pull myself out of it and back into full consciousness. I don't really know why I freaked out, but the only I can compare the experience to is what I imagine one's thoughts would be right before being sucked into a black hole. This was nothing like normal sleep paralysis for me.

It was probably an hour before I attempted to sleep again, but I decided to try and WILD again. Failed, but the next thing I remember is being in a dream where I was on a sportfishing boat in the middle of a storm, but all of a sudden, me and a DC were thrown into the ocean somehow, and once again I started to freak out, as I thought I was about to drown. But then, my DC turned to me, and said something along the lines of "Just relax, you're fine, this is only a dream. After thinking about it for a second, I was like whoa I am dreaming. But my impulse was to wake myself up, as it was sort of a nightmare, and I did so immediately before actually considering it. Before I even fully awoke I was already pretty disappointed in my own lucid dreaming incompetence, but it was too late to turn back.

I went back to sleep, still trying to WILD, and this time I succeeded. It happened as I heard an actual song start playing in my head that I don't remember, and I clung on to that song hoping that it would pull me into a dream, and it did. I found myself in an unfamiliar room lying on a bed. There was a radio on a desk and it was playing the song that I was just hearing. Next to the radio sat an ex-girlfriend who I never really got over, and she was doing something on a computer. However, despite my best efforts, I couldn't keep myself in the dream, as it was a very crude dream and I was still partially conscious the whole time. I woke up after a few seconds.

As soon as I woke up I began to play the same song to myself in my head, and soon was back in the same exact dream. This time, I lasted a bit longer, but the dream had the same shallow, crude, and unconvincing quality of the other one, as if it was part daydream and part real dream. In spite of that, I still tried to take full advantage of the opportunity this time, and started to have sex with my ex (as an obscenely immature adolescent, having sex is my primary goal when lucid dreaming), but the excitement once again woke me up after a few seconds. UGH

The third WILD I hardly remember anything about, but I do remember that it was a WILD, it only lasted a few seconds again, and it involved jumping/flying.

Despite the crappy dreams, I was very pleased with the experience, as this was the first time I was able to WILD, and I was actually able to feel the dreams forming, instead of them just happening, like they have before. Sorry about the insanely long read, but if you are still reading, thanks!

Oh yeah, btw, none of these songs or noises are dream signs of mine or anything, this was the first time I've ever encountered them, and I thought they were pretty strange.

Wow, three WILDs in one night! I'm jealous, I can't even get to SP.
Congratulations on the LDs, they could have been better, but they were LDs nonetheless

widefinopen, congratulations on your "WILD" night!

For all those new to lucid dreaming, I advise that you simply go with the flow and take it all in. Get used to what being lucid FEELS like so you can ground yourself in your dreams.. that's when the tricks/stunts can happen.
Your first few dreams simply act like a tourist in a new place.. go sightseeing and take in all the different colors and sounds. You may try to increase your vividness by confidently stating aloud "increase lucidity" or "clarity now" but that would be the extent of control I would recommend for struggling dreamers.

I know when I first become lucid, I would have to fight that initial rush of adrenalin. I do this by telling myself to calm down, breathing naturally (or a little slower) and I try to "ground" myself in the dream (i.e., make it as lucid as it can be) instead of immediately racing to do something before I lose lucidity.

One of the tricks I use to "ground" myself is to "touch" things. By touching.. I mean really "feeling" them. Get into how they feel.. are they hot, cold, smooth, rough, etc. (this also increases the vividness of the dream along with helping me remain in it longer).
